We all know there are MANY hybrid theories running through the story line.I believe we are seeing the struggle between the Olympian gods and their mortal relatives. I keep leading to this conclusion because of what Ben told Said when he went to pursuade him to return to the Island. Ben said “I LOOKED”. I believe we are seeing the struggle of Zeus & his son in Whitmore and Ben. Do we know ALL of true Ben’s story? Zeus is known by his falcon and Ben had a stuffed Falcon in his office. Gods can see all and have the ability to change shapes. The Gods believed that there is a place called The Elysian Fields. This is a place surrounded by ocean and is believed to be a place the mortal relatives of the king of the gods were transported, without tasting death, to enjoy an immortality of bliss (Odyssey 4.563). This is what I believe to be the current theme of LOST. There is believed to be 3 Gods that ruled the ! place. The souls then appear before a panel of three judges, Rhadamanthus, Minos I, and Aeacus, who pass sentence. The very good go to the Elysian Fields. Others are singled out for special treatment. I believe we are seeing the struggle of Zeus & his son in Whitmore and Ben. The myth is all about the son over throwing Zeus and Zeus's journey to return to the Island.
