First time post. Tear into it all you want.
The theory is simple. Charlie Hume is Charles Widmore.
At some point in the future, Desmond, Penny and Charlie will travel to the past, around 1930, and either they will assimilate and survive, or Desmond and Penny will perish, at which point Charles will be adopted by the Others.
After seeing Dead is Dead, my belief in this theory was strengthened, and I felt compelled to post it. Charlie's hair coming out of the boat was reminiscent of Charles Widmore's hair circa 1970's.
Other than that, I don't really have any credence for this theory, besides the fact that they both have british accents. The repercussions of this theory are that Charles is his own grandfather, and Penny her own grandmother.
I just can't get over the fact that they named their son Charlie. This cannot simply be coincidence on the writers part, and there has to be a deeper significance for that choice.
