Observations, Conclusions and Overall Random Thoughts and Theories on Desmond – Part 1
The following isn’t so much meant to be a cohesive, front to back theory as much as it is a means to try to make sense of the info we’ve been given about Desmond Hume, as well as the characters associated with the beloved Scot - Widmore, Penny, Brother Campbell, Eloise Hawking and of course Libby.
Let’s start with Libby, actually. Libby and Desmond met at a coffee shop. When Des didn’t have any U.S. dollars to pay for his venti, Libby stepped in to help. After a chit chat, Des revealed that he was entering a race around the world to win back the affection of true love, Penny, and to spite her dad, the villainous Charles Widmore. Given that the race was sponsored by Widmore’s company, it would make victory all the sweeter.
