I got thinking about something, The seven deadly sins. With Lost it seems these all have its place. and going by theroy's on here, saying the Island is Heaven/Hell/Eden.... Here's what I'm Thinking?
1. Lust - Kate & Sun.
Many have had a lust over Kate. Not all have come out in the good with that. She is like the tempting apple. I.E Jack ends up with her off island, develops a drug problem, goes a little crazy. Sawyer, leaves her and becomes a man in love with Juiliette.
Sun has had a affair off Island, and has gone againt the rules of Marriage. This is also soemthing that deals with Lust.
2. Gluttony - Hurley.
If you read about Gluttony... it is considered a sin because of the excessive desire for food, or its withholding from the needy. This shows Hurley in my mind. Specially with all his food hiding in the beginning.
3. Greed - Ben & Charles, Nikki & Paulo
Personal Gain, and Betrayal is what defines Greed. Ben will go to any length to get as he pleases. The island is his. I think many of the characters of lost have this in them but these are the 2 that stand out to me. This also applies to Nikki & Paulo. They were greedy with the diamonds and are now dead.
4. Sloth - Juilette & Desmond
Uneasiness of the mind, or sadness & Despair, depression and joylesness. I am sure all the losties have had this. However, juilette was depressed, on not being able to return home to her sister, she was sad to be stuck with Ben. She had despair to leave him, after all she had been through, and join the losties to only be questioned on her intentions. Desmond, was desperate to get back to his life with Penny, that was all that mattered to him.
5. Wrath - Sayid & Ana Lucia, Ben & Sawyer
Murder and rage. Sayid has clearly shown he is Wrath, he has no issues in killing and tourturing anyone. Ana Lucia also has that temper, and is quick to let her rage get in her way. Ben will Murder, at any cost. Sawyer is the other one who will kill if need be. He is a con man, and has no fear in getting as he wants when he needs it.
6. Envy - Ben, John, Jack
Desire - Ben wants the island to accpet him, he want to alway be the leader.
John - Wants to know everything, and does not stop at finding it all out. He knows he is meant to be there. He envy's the fact that Ben knows everything while he is left guessing.
Jack - Wants off the Island, that is everything he wants. When he is off Island all he wants is to be back. He feels such despair to be where he is.
Ben - Can't stand to not be the "One" he is now the one who wishes he was chosen like locke. And now maybe envy's him.
7.Pride - Carlie, Jin, John & Rose
All these people display Pride. Being content.
Charlie - Knew he was going to die, and did so with pride and dignaty.
Jin - Has accepted his fate, and knows what is best for Sun. "Tell her I am dead" He then joins the D.I and carries his role with Pride. He has also taken on Fishing like his father, which before shamed him and now he is proud of.
John - Carries Pride, as if he owns it. He loves the Island, knows that is where he belongs, he feels more then privlaged to be here.
Rose - On the brink of death, the Island cured her. She has no reason to leave, knowing her cancer may return.
Ok so i know you can mix up the characters to be almost anywhere in the 7 deadly sins. However, this was a quick thought.
