There are a lot of fun things that we might get to see now that we finally get to satisfy our curiosities and get an indepth look of the DHARMA Initiative
We might get to see the look on Sawyer's face as he watches a polar bear get a fish biscuit in no time flat!
We might get to see Hurley teaching a parrot or some other engineered and trained DHARMA bird to say his name.
We might even get to see Radzinsky before he was a spatter on the ceiling, although I'm probably sure there were many other button pushers between the 70's and Kelvin.
We may get to see a possible young Ethan, or young Goodwin playing in the schoolyard with a young Ben (since Ben said he's one of the "FEW" who was lucky enough to not make it in the purge grave). Maybe they bullied him because his dad was a janitor, and their dad's were Horace or other high up DHARMA fellows
We may get to see Marvin Candle doing bunny time travel experiments.
We may get to see some more humor in the Pearl station (although the disco dancing was really funny) and Mr Eyebrows calling it a hootenanny... wow
We may get to see Horace, or even Sawyer training polar bears to turn donkey wheels, and get to see a polar bear dropped off in the middle of Tunisia
We may get to meet the real Henry Gale, and his wife.
We may get to witness the DHARMA Initiative building the actual swan station on top of Jughead, and program the "failsafe" to trigger the bomb to blow up in case of emergency.
We might get to see Sawyer, Kate, Hurley, Jack, etc all instructing a young Ben Linus to seek out Richard, with information about the future and watch Ben grow to power. They might even tell Ben that he will have cancer, he will need to trick evil Widmore off the island (because future Ben convinced them that he was PURE evil) So when Widmore is off the island, he can find a way to locate this island, and then create a race around the world which the path goes through an island window at the perfect moment in time, and manipulate a young man named Desmond into desperation, so he attempts the race to and ends up on the island, so he can push a button until one day he crash lands a plane called Oceanic 815. Jack asks young Ben to to contact a man named Christian Shepard to help manipulate a spinal surgeon named Jack to be on board to help with his cancer.
How widmore finds the island again, is that he maybe is told by some of the oceanic Dharma-ites (maybe Hurley, since he HATES Ben) in the 70's. that Desmond will turn the key in the 2000's, setting off the Jughead bomb that was buried, thus revealing the location of the island to the mainland, giving him an idea on where to go back in a few decades, wherewhen to set up cameras to capture John Locke, and use him to physically manipulate his place back as the Island's leader (in the future). Ben as an Other will convince Widmore to turn this wheel which moves the island in time and Widmore gets kicked off the island landing in Tunisia at God knows what year, but at least he remembers where a dropoff point is. During this time DHARMA trains polar bears to move the donkey wheel as well because they are studying the entrance and exit points of the island, and learning how to shift it slightly through time (there are at least two exits as indicated by the pendulum), other one poss! ibly in the arctic... remember Penny's men searching for the island in the icy water somewhere?) On the mainland, Widmore develops his agenda to get back to the island, he finds this boy, named John Locke whom he met on the island at 17 years old while time skipping and decides that he will dedicate his life to convince John Locke he was special, knowing that a man who can disappear in front of your eyes and is a "future leader" is special indeed. Little does he know that young Ben/Richard are on the same agenda with this Locke fellow because John can travel through time, and has healing abilities, and can see Jacob, and are told this again by one of the Losties (like Sawyer) Widmore wants Locke at the island to trigger a chain of events that ends up with Ben turning the wheel and end up in the desert, where Widmore will have cameras and be waiting for his arrival. However Ben lands a few years before this, and Widmore was not as prepared (as the two men he possibly hired t! o find Linus)
Widmore will contact Hawking's son (knowing the Hawking's have some ties to the island too), and sponsor his research in time travel and teach Daniel about the island so that he can help him learn about the entrance/exit points as well as the effects of time travel knowing that he landed in a different year. He will learn while funding Daniel's research, or just being close to daniel, that this man named Desmond visited him at Oxford saying he was from the past, the same Desmond who was interested in his daughter, and Widmore will know that he needs again to get Desmond to the island so this can all transpire (this is the second time traveller Widmore encounters).
So whether Ben is long-conning widmore, or vice versa, looks like we'll find out in fairly soon who the hero is. John Locke serves as a pawn to multiple sources, and we will hopefully get to see all this go down and repeat forever and ever and ever in season 5...until one time this man named John Locke breaks the cycle, and ends up forcing Ben into the future instead of the DHARMA 70's upon the "return" to the island. So that just this one time the 815'ers are the ones manipulating a young Ben, instead of Old Ben manipulating a young Ben... so, cycle broken?
