I have been re watching "smoke monster" episodes and have come up with a theory that sounds fit.
After discovering that Egyptians have a significant role in the island (whether they were on it or not), leaves me to believe that Smokie is a god that was worshiped by the Egyptians and even perhaps helped Build the Pyramids.
It's a little far fetched, I know... But have you heard the sounds of coming from the Smokie? You hear crane sounds, chains, anchors, rolling wheels, horns, almost mechanical. Black smoke was also used in the building of Pyramids, in order to chase away the rats and other animals that would lay nest inside tunnels of these structures.
And how were the Pyramids built? There has been a lot of theories stated that "Gods", or even Aliens helped build the Pyramids because of it's architecture and timing of how long it was built. And was it capable of being built that quickly? Tunisian is located 1200 miles from The Great Pyramids.

The Egyptians believed in Gods of "Protection" Hapy - Who Protect deceased's lungs. Imsety who Protect deceased's liver.Etc Etc...
So I'm almost convinced, that this smoke monster is actually a god (or some force of nature) that has existed over many years and was idolized by the Egyptians and somehow was placed onto the island.. Theory by Ian
