Ok so I was rewatching season 2 last night and it all began to make sense to me.
Lost is a game being played by god and the devil throughout time. I don't really think its god and the devil but thats just a way to for everyone to visualize it. Now they have been playing a game testing humanity through out time. Through the beginning of humanity they have been playing this game and the island is there playground. They can manipulate and change things by bringing people to and from the island. They themselves cannot appear to normal people in the real world but on the island they can take the form of dead people. The purpose of this game is to test humanity. These are tests of character that both god and the devil set up for our main characters. God is trying to push for a peaceful existence for humanity where they can get a long and achieve balance. Meanwhile the devil is working to break the peace and have war and greed and whatever win out.
Now stick with me here because this is a big jump.
Jack and the other 12 MAIN characters on the show are a reincarnation/recreation of Jesus and his tweleve disciples. Now I am not sure of the whole story of Jeusus and his disciples but I am convinced that The 12 main characters on the island are there because of Jack and that Jack is their leader and they have been recruited by GOD to help save the island and thus the world. Now they're not exactly like Jesus and his twelve disciples because that happened thousands of years ago and humanity has evolved through time. But during the current time period that we are witnessing Jack is the Jesus figure (though not literally).
Evidence to support this:
Jack- His tatoo says that he walks amongst us/but he is not one of us. His father is Christan Shepard ( A shepard of souls to christianity) He is Jack's father, but he isn't real. He is Jacob. In the dharma video that is played quickly it says Jacob is GOD that is the producers trying to tell us something, it's a hidden message)
Kate- Kate is brought to the island to be Jack's love. She is Mary. She is the ultimate sinner, she was a convict, she killed but Jack still loved her because he saw that underneath all her actions of sin she is a good person. Jesus loves all his people.
Sawyer- Is the con man. He was needed to be brought to the island so that they could lie to the past and the past would believe it he is the ultimate con man.
Hurley- Hurley is who convinced me that this is all a game being played in the first place. Remeber back in season 2 when Hurley chased Dave through the jungle. They had a scene in that episode that showed hurley in the mental institution where he was talking to dave and leonard was there playing connect 4 with him and then the physcologist came and took a picture with all of them to show hurley that he was making both of them up! Well he wasn't leonard was there saying the numbers and that was god trying to get hurley to the island, and then dave was the devil trying to get hurley not to change and stay there in the mental institution. Hurley is just constantly being tested by god and the devil seeing which path he belongs on.
John Locke- Now everyone is convinced that John Locke is special and he is but I dont think he has anything to do with saving the island and humanity itself. He is the man of faith. He believes in the Island. He believes in Jacob and he believes in God. His belief is what's most important. He has to convince Jack to have faith in god. He has to make Jack believe so that Jack can lead his people and restore peace on earth.
Now if your still with me onto more concrete things. Jack and co. were sent back in time to help save the world by helping prevent the Hydrogen bomb from blowing up on the island. You see I think that Jack and co were meant to be brought to the island for the purpose of going back in time and helping the right side win the war that Widmore is talking about.
The war is going on between good and evil, god and the devil. Jack has to be there because he has to save everyone and protect humanity. In the end Jack will have to sacrifice himself to protect the island. John didn't sacrifice himself he was killed. The island brought him back to life because it was important for Jack to see that it could be done that God is real and that if he has faith then humanity will have faith in god because Jack is their leader.
I feel like this can explain so much. God and the devil are playing this game and everyone except for the main 12 characters are just chess pieces. They move in and out of our characters lives in order to influence them and there destinys because they are the only ones that can change humanity. People like Benjamin linus and Charles Widmore know about the island and its powers and abilities and try to manipulate it to gain power and control but they are foolish and they can't change anything. In the end it is the will of god to have these 12 people here on the island to help start the perfect civilization over again.
See I think that this game has been being played for a long time throughout time and that throughout time God has chosen different people to be its leader and that when the desmond turned the fail safe key it restarted time. This has been done several times before. Hence why richard's people are there. They were once brought to the island like Jack and his people. Richard was prolly once the leader of his people.
Now some more evidence to support my theory. Christian Shepard is Jacob who is god. Christian Shepard pushes Jack throughout his life to the island. Through his death. This is Jacob's first attempt to bring Jack to the island and convince him that he is real and that he needs to help save humanity. Throughout the series Jacob guide's Jack's every motive and reason for doing the things he does. He tries to teach him that he can't save everyone but if he has faith he can heal and save the people who matter most to him. Only through true demonstrations of faith can god heal and save. Like when Jack saved Sarah. Now Jack's dad, Jacob impregnated Claire's mom to have Claire so that she can have Aaron so that Jacob's lineage can be perserved. That's why Aaron is so important he is the future of the island he is Jacob's descendant. The island needs to have the Shepard lineage continue through humanity to ensure its survival. Aaron is born on the island as a descendant of god. He is! the first baby born on the island when time is reset.
The previous baby born on the Island? It would be Horace and Amy's baby that was never supposed to be born. It was only born because Sawyer and Juliette (who is the only woman who can help deliver baby's on the island) were there. You see this was the devil's trick. The devil tricked Jack and co. to leave the island which they were never supposed to do and therefore this caused Sawyer and co. to go back in time and deliver this baby, which I believe is Jacob's opposite (the devil or whatever's) lineage. This baby will grow up to fight Jack and co. in the future for control of the island and humanity. It was the devil's seed. He was able to find the island and put his lineage into it which changes the future. This baby now becomes the first baby to be born on the island.
Now Jack and Co. go to the past in order to help ensure the survival of the future. The war that is going is going to be between the Hostiles and Dharma between faith and science, and Jack is going to have to lead the side of faith against science. He is going to have to sacrifice himself to ensure the future's survival. Then destiny will be corrected when Jack dies. However then i think the story will jump to the future and Jack will be resurrected when he crashes on the island in the first place. He will wake up and know everything that has happened. He will know the importance of Aaron and how to help save Jacob and the world. He will be the leader he was meant to be. He will lead them to peace and happiness on the island. He will make sure that Aaron is born and then Aaron will take his place when Jack is gone, and the world will be saved.
I KNOW THIS THEORY HAS A LOT OF HOLES IN IT AND PROLLY DOESNT MAKE A LOT OF SENSE BUT ITS JUST A THEORY BUT JUST TRY AND WATCH AN EPISODE OF LOST WITH THE PERSPECTIVE THAT ITS ALL A GAME BEING PLAYED BY 2 ENTITIES ONE GOOD AND ONE EVIL AND THEYRE TRYING TO MANIPULATE HUMANITY THROUGH TESTS OF FAITH AND BELIEF.
