First of all I must apologize for any inappropriate mistake that I can make due to English isn’t my native language. And also this is my first theory I ever submitted here. Before I composed this I read almost everything posted here. Everywhere I felt some insufficiency. And suddenly after once again re-thinking I caught up a conclusion that could be sufficient to explain everything happening in Lost. I think that all this is going to be explained later on but many of the clues were given to us already. Producers appeared to be a bit inhonest saying that there will be no time-paradoxes in the show, but they appeared much more clever than I thought before.
First of all let us look at some clues that we have:
1) When we first knew about Desmond and his history we saw NO evidence of Faraday to ever contact him.
2) Faraday meets Desmond on the Island and SPENDS the time together with him until Desmond leaves.
3) Within SOME TIME of time flashings Faraday meets Desmond at the Swan and asks him to find his mother.
4) Within SOME TIME being away from the Island Desmond suddenly remembers this Faraday’s request.
5) Charlotte felt bad since the very appearance of her with Faraday on the Island. Being worse and worse further on. She started bleeding hardly during timeflashes.
6) She told Faraday that it had been him who had told her not to return to the Island which had resulted in her return. And after these words she dies.
7) When Faraday realized the meaning of her words there happened a light flash during which her body disappeared.
8) During start off of Locke with Abbadon on their trip to visit O6 the first stop they do is to wait until sheeps crossed the road FROM RIGHT TO LEFT in front of their car. After they started moving again THE SHEEPS WERE AGAIN ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD.
9) It was NEWS to Ben to know that Jin was alive though he must had known that before. After this news Ben changes his decision and kills Locke.
10) Do not believe people saying that the Dharma village Sun and Frank came to was in some other different place. While they arrived and were going along the wooden pier this was shown to deatailly to recognize the same pier where the sub had been blown up.
11) The runway ready to accept flight Ajira 316.
Now you have to understand that there is NO TIME LOOP. The time loop means the period of time line being repeated forever. The time loop is only possible for someone as it starts to be separated from the universal timeline immediately. Imagine a rope with a ring touching it. The rope is a universal time line and the ring is the time loop. The touching point is just the START of the time loop which starts as some point of a regular time line. And the time loop has no END point. Thus one being before the time loop can either enter it or pass the start by. For those passed by the time loop does not exist. Here we definitely have no time loop. Quite the opposite. All the clues listed shows that some future events are changing.
Finally, here is the idea of the real timeline in Lost. The future CAN be changed from the past without a problem. The only condition of it is that this change must not make a time loop. The time loop can be caused by any time paradox. For example, the well known paradox when a person travels back in time where he kills his parent before he is born. Let us look closer to that situation.
1) At the very moment when his parent DIES this person disappears as never existed.
2) But once he disappears, then nobody would come to kill his parent. Thus his parent remains alive.
3) And if his parent remains alive then the person is born and kills his parent.
4) This causes to start it over from the item 1.
So, what we have here is a simple single moment time loop. Due to which the person and his parent actually disappear from the future but the main time line continues.
Later I will show you that there were SEVERAL time loops started in Lost but this as I told you does not influence the going on time flow of the Lost future.
The greatest hint to the time line of Lost was given when Sawyer and Jack found out that for BOTH of them it had passed 3 years. This hint is a clue to that the time of a person is NOT discrete function for him despite of his travels to the past. But the clues of time-changes shown above show us that the future is not changed from the past immediately. How to combine both? Here it is. Two men live together. Then one goes to the past in time and tells the other something. The other will know about it … only after a delay. Because despite of the first travels back in time it will take him some of his personal time anyway to get to the other to tell him. But once he tells him in the past the other being in the future acquires this knowledge IMMEDIATELY. In other words. Take two ropes of equal length and put them parallel one to another on a table. This will represent personal timeline of two persons. Then bend one rope in a way that its bended end points somewhere to its mid! dle part forming a loop. The point where this bend starts IS THE POINT WHEN ONE RETURNS TO THE FUTURE. The bended end of the rope represents point in time when the person tells the other something in the past. BUT at the same moment as the ropes are equal in their lengths the end of the unbended rope means point in time when the other acquires the knowledge of being told from the past. Is it clear? Thus I can assume for 100% that the future before Faraday came to the Island DID NOT have the event of Desmond being visited by him. Thus Desmond did not know anything about this Faradays request to find his mother. But once Faraday changes the future by telling this to Desmond, at the same moment Desmond somehow suddenly remembers this happened. But for both of them since Desmond left the Island and for Faraday remaining on the Island travelling in time must have passed EQUAL AMOUNT OF DAYS of how they feel time.
Now if to apply this theory to all the unexplained facts, the facts become clear. And it explains all of them. Previously I explained the listed clues 1-4. The clue 8 is explained the same way. While Locke and Abbadon were waiting for sheeps to cross the road our Losties have changed the future from the past and this caused a “butterfly effect” that resulted in sheeps to appear again on the right side of the road. The IS NO COURSE CORRECTION. There is just a DYNAMIC FUTURE CHANGE FROM THE PAST!
Ben DID NOT know that Jin survived. As in his past it did not happen. So this news was really shocking to him and a warning about ongoing completely changed future where he might even not exist any more! This knowledge altogether with his own knowledge of time travels brought his extraordinary mind to immediately understand that he already might not have any more time and he must immediately collect all O6, bring them to the Island to maintain the future known to him unchanged or only slightly changed.
But up to time they return to the Island the future is already changed very much! Sun and Frank saw it.
By the way, I am pretty much sure that the runway for Ajira 316 where Frank landed WAS NOT BUILT BY BEN but by … DHARMA! As from tonight’s episode Sayid started to tell that he was from the future. Probably later on someone will reveal it clear to Horace and the company. And maybe Sun or Frank will somehow tell Dharma about where they have landed…
Now about Charlotte. She got into a time loop created by her telling to Faraday that it was him who told her not to return to the Island. She disappeared right after Faraday’s decision not to tell her that!
Please tell me what you think about that. Theory by Dmitriy
