Here's some of my thoughts on what we saw in Namaste in regards to the Swan, Mr. Radzinsky, etc.
First off, looking at the screen cap of the model and prints of the swan, my thoughts on the Airlock is that it is where Kelvin and Desmond would go to put on the Hazmat suits. That it was to a room in between the back door to the hatch, and the interior of the hatch. They would need the airlock because of the "quarantine"... In other thoughts, I believe the swan was actually the center to Dharma's entire reason for being on the island... that explains why nearly everything at one point has the swan logo on it... but now I'm going off on a tangent.
BAck to the quarantine... The quarantine wasn't because of a sickness, but because the hatch was well beyond the lines drawn up in the truce. The reason nobody in the swan went thru the purge is because the others realized that they had no idea how to control the experiment in the swan, and that if they left it unattended, it would spell catastrophe.
Stay with me here... The swan was built and Radzinsky being the designer, he wanted to be one of the operators. During his time in there, the purge happened. This is why he started making the blast door map. There was a note on there about the incident, and even a date. I believe he was trying to see what had become of the rest of the island, and research if the entire DI had been wiped out. Unfortunately, he only had 108 minutes to venture (hence the note about distance not compatible with 108).
The reason the map was such that it could only be seen under UV (black) light is because he was unsure if the "hositles" had taken the Pearl. If they had, they could see what he was up to, and study the map if it were written with normal ink.
To take it further, I believe Radzinsky lost his mind as a result of whatever the "incident" was. Hence why he felt he had to make changes to the orientation film (I don't know why he hid part of the film in the arrow, just now), and became the RAdzinsky we all speculated wildly about for nearly 3 seasons now.
I also believe that Radzinsky was the one who programmed the chess game in the Flame station, and also wired it with pounds upon pounds of C4... The Flame wasn't under "Hostile" control at the time, but since the truce was broken previously somehow, leading to the purge, that was his contingency plan to stop the hostiles from over running the station. I actually believe that Mikhail was originally a member of the DI, and he told some truths when it came to how he was still there in the flame running the station... He didn't want to fight the "hostiles" so they let him be.
As to what caused Mr. Radzinsky to finally off himself... I don't know.
Thoughts... BE brutally honest with me, if this is beyond off the wall... let me have it.Theory by mass affliction
