When Sun and Frank go to the normal island they see a sign dangling from the barracks the say "PROCESSING CENTER". That sign was never there when the others were living there in present time. Therefore something the losties have done, or will the do will change the future.
The sign shows that the others possibly never taken over the barracks...
Also a Dhrama sign was still on the door, therefore it is possible the purge never occurred and Dhrama remained in control. Dhrama pictures were still on the wall but from way back before the present time.
Something the losties did very possibly change the course of history, avoid the purge, and led the demise of Dhrama in a different way because Eloise Hawking said history has a way of course correcting itself...
And then just a thought on Ethan...
Everyone thinks that because Ethan was born the losties had to be there, but Sawyer saved Amy from the "hostiles" so Ethan will grow up with the D.I. but if Sawyer wasn't there then Amy would have been captured and he would be part of the others...
