Ok this is just something that has occured to me and I'm not really sure about it but I'm hoping for some feedback to find out how true it is. Also I don't think I've read this theory before but correct me if I'm wrong.
I know the man just rose from the dead, but I've been starting to doubt Locke is special.
Some of what makes Locke special can also be found in other people. He was healed on the island, but so was Rose. He can hear Jacob, but that doesn't mean other people can't. We've seen no evidence of this. Also, not many people can find Jacob's cabin, but Hurley can too.
What is also important is that Locke might have deemed himself special. I'm not an expert on this time travel stuff, but it seems like the reason Richard thought Locke was special is because Locke told him he was.
Next, when Locke was presented with two tests to see if he was special, he failed. First he failed when he was supposed to choose the compass and he chose the knife. Next he failed when he was supposed to kill his father and he had Sawyer do it.
He has always seemed to be "in-tune with the island" but I feel like this is because he made an effort to get to know the island. If we're going on religion, Locke would be more like a priest and the island is like God. Locke sees power and magic in the island because he is open to it. He has been through so much and took his being healed as a sign. Think about this, Jesus healed the sick, but it didn't make them special and it most certainly didn't make them Jesus. It seems like this is all an effort for Locke to find meaning in his life.
For Locke's sake I really do hope he is special, but he might just be a pawn in what seems more like a political battle for the island. Ben, Widmore, Jacob, Richard and Christian are all pulling Locke in different directions. In fact I haven't found any consensus between them.
1. Ben says Locke has to kill his dad. Richard tells him to have Sawyer do it.
2. Christian says Locke has to push the wheel. Ben does it himself.
3. Christian says Locke has to die. Widmore says that can happen and Ben stops him at first but later ends up making it happen.
4. If Jacob needs help, why hasn't Richard helped him and obviously Ben isn't helping him and might be the reason he needs help.
Still the resurecction means something and Christian seems to have known it would happen which means Jacob did too if Christian is in fact speaking for him. But besides the ressurection can someone give me some examples of him being special that I might've missed. Theory by BekkaN
