New to posting a theory – but here goes….
As we can all agree, based on off-show clues by the writers, the LOST mythology has been evolving since the first season. There appear to be a few constants (no pun intended) that seem to permeate the show as the mythology develops the theme of who is good and who is evil. These are:
1. Smoke Monster kills
2. Ben kills (too many to count, but for example - the purge)
3. Richard Alpert kills (the purge, the soldiers in 1954, and possibly countless more)
4. Widmore kills viciously
5. Hawking could care less about passengers on the plane that could die (or for her son, as she demonstrated little interest in Desmond’s message from her son.
Who has Jacob killed on the island? No one as far as I can tell
Who has asked for help? Jacob has in the cabin with his “help me” plea to Locke?
Who has Christian killed? No one, as far as I can tell.
Who is constantly asking for help? Christian has of Locke to move the island, get the 06 back, sending Vincent to wake Jack in the mobisode, etc.
Who apparently does not talk to Jacob? Ben (who didn’t hear the plea for help) and Richard (why would he need a leader if he could talk to Jacob)
If we assume the island is Jacob, then everyone on the island except Locke has been pursing their own agenda to control Jacob and the island, Why? – that is what we will find out in the remaining episodes.
Based upon the story to date, Jacob (the island) is a prisoner with limited means to communicate with people, who is guiding Locke. I can only assume that Desmond’s failure to push the button that caused the plane to crash and the destruction of the hatch have now allowed Jacob to look for a way to escape imprisonment.
The war – that appears to be among the living leeches Ben, Widmore, Dharma and everyone else that want to control the island for their own purpose.
In the end, Jacob and some of the original 815ers will survive. What we will not know, however, is whether that means good conquered evil or vice a versa……….Theory by AndLost
