They say one of the most important of man’s inventions is the wheel. On Lost island there is a wheel. How and why it was placed where it was is a mystery. So I will hazard a guess.
I think that the island was originally off the coast of Egypt. Egyptians went to the island and after unearthing a rope going down in to the ground discovered a cave of glowing rocks. These rocks were found to have tremendous healing powers. They decided to mine the rocks and built a system similar to what was being used in the first Conan movie, a wheel and shaft system to break loose the rock. But something happened when they used the system. The island moved.
Frightened, the Egyptians stopped their mining efforts. Soon people of other races began coming to the island. The Egyptians defended the island from these intruders, killing the men and assimilating the women and children. They built temples and statues to their gods so that the island would be watched over and be in the gods favor. Time passed. All of the visitors unlucky enough to stumble upon the island all met the same fate.
Then in the 1850’s the Black Rock was washed ashore in a storm, after it had come up a flooded creek. The crew was armed with weapons and dynamite. There was a battle. Eventually a truce was reached and the Black Rock crew educated the island natives, taught them to speak the Queen’s English, and educated them to the ways of the outside world. The 20th century arrived and visitation and disappearance of vessels, planes and ships, became more frequent. Then in 1954 the US Army stumbled across the island in the South Pacific and planned to use it as a testing ground for their H-Bomb, Jughead. The islanders slaughtered the Army men, and took their provisions, uniforms and means of transportation.
Then visitors from the future arrived and told them to bury the Jughead in concrete because it was dangerous. Then the visitors disappeared in thin air. The inhabitants were naturally shocked when this happened. Their leader Richard, along with Eloise Hawking and Charles Widmore utilized the Army transports and left the island to learn how to make concrete and to visit one of the visitors from the future, John Locke, who told Richard that he would be born in a place called Tustin, California in 1957.
When they returned to the island they utilized the largest rock structure they had on the island, the statue of Taweret, Goddess of Childbirth, to create a concrete mixture for burying the bomb. Unbeknownst to Richard, when Widmore was off the island he sought out Alvar Hanso, a relative of Tovar Hanso who came to the island on the Black Rock. Widmore told Alvar about the island and its unique properties. Hawking, who was fascinated with time travel after meeting Daniel Faraday in 1954, stayed off the island and went to Oxford and studied physics and time travel. Alvar then contacted the DeGroots and started the Dharma Initiative. The Dharma Initiative came to the island in the 1970’s. But that is whole Other story. Theory by phil4terri
