A lot of people have been speculating about the pilot episode and its importance to the show (we know we will see parts of it in the series finale).
We see Bens baton in the frame with Jack when he first wakes up (separate from all the other losties in the jungle, as we all know)
If Jack really is living through this for the second time, or 3rd or whatever, to a lot of people his demeanor throughout the first few seasons doesnt match that of a person who had been through what Jack had.
How can this be explained?
THE DAMN BRAIN WASHER THAT KARL WAS ON.
At some point I think Jack will use it on himself or someone will use it on him before he is "flashed" back to the pilot episode.
Also, I remember when Charlotte died and there was a flash and her body dissapeared and they kinda went out of the way to point out how her body didnt flash when she was dead. They did point out that objects can travel.
I think that in one of the last scenes of Lost Ben will die at Jacks side just before that final flash that will send him back. Hence the baton traveling but not Ben with Jack. Theory by AbsoluteTruth
