Have y'all noticed that Horace's personality&appearance has changed drastically from season's three "the man behind the curtain" to season five's "LaFleur".Here's what I mean....
"Man behind the curtain"
1.Horace is happy go lucky and chipper.
2.Horace has medium length hair/also medium when he dies in '92.
3.Horace is skinny/in shape.
4.Horace wears glasses.
5.Horace is associated with Olivia(relationship is still in question).
now....
"LaFleur"
1.Horace is depressed,distant,and grumpy.
2.Horace has long hair in '74 and '77.
3.Horace is fat/out of shape.
4.Horace does not wear glasses.
5.Horace is Amy's friend/later('77)they are married.
HHmmmm????These are clearly two different Horace Goodspeed.the question we have to ask is when did Horace change?Are they the same person from both episodes?If they are the same person,was he happy,sad,happy,sad...skinny/medium ,hair,fat/long hair,skinny/medium hair...you get what I'm saying here.Yeah people can change their weight and personality through out the years but I don't think that's what LOST is trying to imply with Horace.I think they are trying to show us two different personality's of Horace.I think the Horace from season three is the correct Horace and the season five Horace has been changed physically and personality-wise due to all these messing with time events.I think when the Losties(or possibly Ben) go back in time and start changing everything, this changes people and events differently.What if Locke and company going back and visiting '54 changed everything for DHARMA when they arrived on island.Maybe this time around Oliva died some how?she did know a! lot about the island's volcano.maybe she was out collecting some volcanic samples and might have been attacked by the "Hostiles" similar to Amy being attacked.
If you go back and piece together what Horace said to Locke in "Cabin Fever" and "Man behind the curtain" and "LaFleur" together,it does'nt line up quit right.Here is my time line that I tried to piece together...
1.1964/65-Ben is born(Jack said Ben was 39-40 from his X-rays),we meet short haired/skinny Horace and Olivia for the first time.
2.1974-Our Losties go back in time and meet a long haired /fat grumpy Horace.Sawyer and Juliet save Amy from Hostiles.
3.1974/76-between this time(10-12yr.old)Ben arrives on the island with his father only to be greeted by medium hair/skinny happy Horace.Also in this time Olivia teaches Ben,Annie,and kids about the volcano.
4.1977-Horace(fat and slightly grumpy w/ long hair again)is married to Amy and has a son with her.
5.1977-1992-Horace builds the cabin for"Him and the missus".Note-Horace has medium hair and in-shape.(also,this means Amy is alive at this point).
6.1992-the purge happens.medium hair in-shape Horace dies.
So if this helps anyone or y'all could add to this,maybe I'm missing something?I hope other people have noticed this with Horace...what do you think?Theory by Ralph
