So it's pretty much confirmed, the actions of the 815 entering the past have officially changed the future. This is so Back to the Future II. They take an almanac from the future (knowledge) and take it to the past, creating a branch off from the original timeline.
However as we learned from Doc Brown, is that you can change things back(granted you actually want to) by going back to the exact point in time and prevent the Almanac from ever being delivered. Or... you go back and take everyone from 316 and prevent them from changing ANYTHING in the DI, kill them, etc..

Unless you want them to change things, then ok. But here's what has happened.
The alternate past created an alternate future, which Sun and Frank are witness too. The barracks look like they have been deserted for decades, leading me to the belief that that Others never lived in the Barracks in this alternate timeline.
The DHARMA Orientation sign is still hanging in the Barracks, but now is dangling from just wear-and-tear from the elements. As we know from Season 3, there was no orientation sign on the Barracks that our favorite Others lived in. This definitely hints at the fact that after the DHARMA Initiative leaves the Barracks (either by purge, or by some yet unknown alternate past event) it never gets habitated by the Others. I wonder in this alternate past, if the DHARMA Initiative ends up victorious in the "purge" scenario! And they just live out their lives, finish their research, and leave. At this point all the Others are wiped out, and the Barracks and everything else on the island just stays abandoned for all of eternity.
To further push the alternate timeline. We know that Frank, Sun, Ben, Locke all are in the present because they didn't flash out like the rest of them. When Frank trying to land on the runway you could clearly hear "4,8,15,16,23,42" instead of the "distress call" which shows that in this alternate future version of the future, Danielle never changed the numbers to her distress call at the radio tower, possibly for a number of reasons. Either in the alternate past (created by the 316'ers) a) Danielle now gets killed before she makes it there or b) Danielle never makes it there
With the above premise, if Danielle gets killed, I wonder what happens to Alex? Never kidnapped? Never BORN?! What happens to young Ben? Killed? What happens to the Others? Are THEY the ones who get purged?
I wonder if anyone from the future travels back to attempt to prevent the 316'ers from ever altering the course of time or creating the alternate timeline.
