Okay, first time posting here, so please forgive me if this theory has been done before
Think back to the 'flashback' of Daniel Faraday, was it really a flashback?
What if this scene is one of the final of series 6.
There are many theories about Desmond being the "game-changer", how he can change things in the past to affect the future.
What if in a bid to stop a huge disaster (such as Jughead going off, the incident, the purge etc) they try to change things in the past to change who was on flight 815 or to try and stop it crashing.
If 815 did not crash then Desmond would of not been distracted by Locke banging on the hatch, he would of then committed suicide, the fail-safe key would not of been turned and the world would not be saved.
However if they change the past so Desmond never went to the island, then 815 would not of crashed, so how will they do this?
I think Faraday is involved in a big way, I think that in the scene where he is watching the news of 815 being found in the ocean an him crying may hint to the following:
The plane crash found was not a hoax by Ben or Whidmore it was a crash from the alternative time line made by Desmond and the Losties.
Daniel was crying for 2 reasons
1. He new people on that flight
2. He new that it may mean the end of the world as the swan station may not have the fail-safe key turned or Kelvin may die alone in there with nobody to replace him.
If they change things in the past to stop certain people getting on that plane this may also explain Miles' flashback, in the house where he goes to do his ghost-busting thing there are pictures of a young Ecko. Does this mean that they changed Ecko's past to stop him from being on the flight, among others so that the circumstances would be different (maybe he was a proxy for Yemi?).
Im just throwing it out there, feel free to tear it to pieces or add your own suggestionsTheory by outof36
