There are a few rumours going around that Kate is pregnant, after she spent the night with Jack the day before the crash. Is it possible that the baby is Charlotte. She said that she was born and grew up on the Island.
Kate will give birth to Charlotte and raise her on the Island as she has recently gone back and the Island clearly doesnt want her to leave.
Charlotte told Daniel that her mother and herself left the Island and that when she asked her mother about it, she would say she was making it up.
I believe this is before the "incident" and because they know it is happening, Kate somehow manages to leave the Island with Charlotte but Jack stays behind because he is involved with "the incident".
If Kate is currently in the 70's, the donkey wheel may not have been found/turned yet so they could leave the Island by submarine (as it has yet to be blown up by Locke) and that is why Charlotte would be about 30 now because Kate wouldn't have flashed to the future but stayed in the 70's. They have left the Island, Kate changes her name and identity and never talks about the Island again because it holds to many bad memories and she had to leave behind her friends and the man/men (sawyer or jack) she loves.
Kate and Charlotte haven't had a scene together, so there is no way for Charlotte to meet Kate and realise that she is meeting her mother, before she has given birth to her.Theory by Random Theory
