BEN HAS BEEN WAITING FOR THE LOSTIES FOR SOME TIME:
Think about this...Ben always knew the Losties would come to the Island, maybe not exactly when, but he knew. The LeftBehinders+Jack/Kate/Hurley are in Dharmatime. Young Ben first came to the Island in Dharmatime. So it follows that young Ben (and maybe Annie) actually met them. When O815 crashed he already knew Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sawyer would be on it.
When Keamy actually got on the Island with rest of his soldiers (not just scientists) Ben knew someone would have to move the Island, to keep Widmore away. He already knew this when he was summoning Smokey, and he decided he'd do it, and go after Widmore/Penny. This is why he grabbed his passport on the way out. Since young Ben has already met Jack and co., I think he knew the time-jumping was about to start too -- and he (and possibly Widmore and Eloise) may know a lot more than just that from what Jack/Faraday and co tell them in Dharmatime. The LeftBehinders+Jack/Kate/Hurley may even have a role in what happened to Annie.
This is probably why Ben came up with the whole Henry Gale trapped in net by Rousseau story to get closer to the Losties. Once Ethan and Goodwin made their "lists" and got them back to Ben he then knew which camp those they would be in. The Losties and the Tailies were all very wary of the Others by then, so he couldn't just walk up to them and say "whazzup".
This may also explain the comment made by Harper (Goodwin's wife) that Juliet looked so much like "her" -- the person Juliet looked like was Juliet herself, from Dharmatime. Theory by ObFuSc8
