I think that Claire was born on the Island! What evidence is there to make me think this?
First, I think there is ample evidence Christian has been to the island before. His severe alcoholism could be a symptom of his desire to return to the island, much like Jack's pill addiction. His deep connection with Jacob is another obvious indicator, as well as Jack's mom's comment "He's done it again" when Christian jetted off to Australia, PERHAPS implying that he too had been taking flights and trying to crash like Jack!
Second, I think that Christian took Claire to the temple to protect her from the time skipping. If Claire was indeed born on the island, she would be one of the first to die during the time jumps, like Charlotte. If, however, Claire was taken to a place that is safe from the time jumps, like say, THE TEMPLE, she won't get the nosebleeds and die.
Third, I think Claire's strange behavior is further evidence she has been to the temple. If she was brainwashed by Smokey it would explain why she was willing to leave Aaron and why she was so bizarre in Jacob's cabin.
I know that most people think that Claire is dead, but I don't think that's necessarily the case. I happen to trust Christian, and I think he's trying to protect his daughter. If she were born on the island, he would be protecting her by taking her somewhere she was safe from the time skips. He could also justify leaving Aaron because he knew Aaron would be off the island before the time skips began, and perhaps he didn't want to subject him to Smokey and the temple. Comments?
