Let’s talk about Jacob, Christian Shephard and John Locke. I think they are all/have all been the Chosen One.
Jacob was first, he died off the island but he was the Chosen One so he got to the island in his coffin. The island somehow managed to get him on flight 815.
Then Christian Shephard, the island also managed to get his body on the island because he was the next Chosen One.
After Christian, there’s John Locke. The O6, with or without Ben Linus, will get John’s coffin to the island and he/his ghost will live in the cabin until his follower will turn up.
Maybe Aaron is next to die and return to the island. Or maybe Walt’s first and after him Aaron will.
It is very vague and difficult to explain but there seems to be a connection between them. They’re special to the island, they die (except for Aaron and Walt, but maybe they’re going to die) and they return to the island as some sort of ghost.
If this is the truth, Ben never has been the Chosen One, he was just a messenger between the real leader and the inhabitants of the island. And before Ben, Richard was the messenger.
