This is a hasty post - apologies.
It occurs to me that on the island the 'chosen one' had to kill his father. Ben did, Locke appeared to - but the bigger question here is why? In a show that is operating on logic at least within the context of itself, this seems irrational.
Then I thought:
In a story involving time travel, proof that a person is truly special would come in them killing their father BEFORE they were conceived.
My prediction is that Desmond will be this person.
He has already been called special, seemingly because he can change things in time. Also, we have not met his father, this is surely on purpose. So I propose that Desmond will kill this man, (probably a character we have already met. Thoughts?) before he is conceived and thus take a different form...
wait for it...
Jacob.
OTHER RANDOM THOUGHTS:
The producers said something recently about wanting to save their budget for "all the crazy stuff in season six", this is speculation of course, but I would put dollars to donuts, particularly after reading The Dark Tower Series, that this means season six will take place in the future, and I mean future! Like - (This is insane, but I really believe it.) Richard and Smokey are AI future. Like the original inhabitants of the island are from this future, future.
I'm very excited for the coming seasons. Lost makes me so happy! Can't wait to hear your thoughts! Theory byWatchBaudrillard
