When Ben told Juliet that she was his, I think Ben meant that Juliet and Ben were a couple in some "timeline" (I use quotes because I am not sure if that would be the precise way to describe it). In other words, Ben thought that him and Juliette were a done deal because he "knew" it already has happened.
It helps explain a lot of Ben's unusual and presumptive behavior. He was very forward with Juliet. It was more than Juliet was brought to the island for Ben. Ben is a smart guy and he seems like the kind of guy who would know that relationships don't just happen. He set up the date with Juliet and made their relationship very intimate from the beginning. The whole dinner date had a very uncomfortable feel for Juliet, but Ben seemed in his element as if he already knew Juliet.
When Juliet brushed off the house Ben gave her, she said that she would only be on the island for 6 months, and Ben dismissed that thought. This could be because Ben knew he and Juliet were "meant to be" in the sense that Ben knew him and Juliet would be together
He acted very possessive over her, and a lot of people might explain it away by saying Juliet looked like Ben's childhood sweetheart, but it makes more sense and gives Ben more credit if Ben has strong feelings for Juliet because he has already "been" in a relationship with Juliet.
Ben does not strike me as a dense guy. He has a lot of wherewithal and usually takes the bad with the good. So I wondered why Ben outright told Juliet, "You're mine." To explicitly tell someone that they belong to you takes chutzpah, and Ben must have known how that would come across to someone. I noticed that Ben right after saying, "Because you're mine," abruptly changes attitude and tells Juliet to "take her time." I think Ben was caught up in the moment and accidentally gave up very sensitive and confidential information to Juliet. Ben tipped his hand to Juliet, letting her know that Ben knows something about them as a couple that Juliet does not know. On a side note, since it appears that Juliet may have known about space-time travel on the island, Ben would have more reason to fear that he tipped his hat as to future Ben and Juliet.
I should also apologize in case anyone else has thought of this theory. I am new to Lost, and the idea was novel to me.Theory by LibbySaysHi
