The whole thing with the beach boys song that charlie had to type into the radio consul at the looking glass, that always made me think that charlie was the one who, somehow back in time was the guy that programmed it originally.
But now i think that it'll be Hurley, working for dharma, who programs it. he had that guitar with him for a reason. maybe he'll take up guitar in memory of charlie, learn a little music, and effect the programming of the station.
as a side-note to this: when the french chick and her peeps rolled up to the island, they were listening to a radio playing "the numbers," and the voice reading them sounded an awful lot like Hurley. This might show his further involvement with the dharma of the past that founded the Initiative on the island. We've already seen Faraday back in time.
oh yea, and I was thinking that arron might be the economist. he is the only one that doesn't go back to the island, and the economist is the only other unnamed player. in the end that seems like these two characters might very well not only be ,inked, but in fact, the same character.
When Elsa? (the girl Sayid shot) talked to her boss there was that emphasis on the fact that he was supposed to call a half hour earlier (am i remembering that right?). Maybe that's in fact arron calling through a time shift from the future.
and the farthest i'll go out on this thin limb is this: arron was supposed to be raised by only Clare. So... if Kate left him with whoever else that seems to mean that something will turn out bad in upbringing, whatever that may be. what if arron is mad? what if he believes he should be on the island? he might be doing anything in his power possible to make sure that the 815ers never left (which would have resulted in him growing up on the island).
This i think, would put arron in league with locke, who also wanted to make sure no one left the island in the first place.
ok, so in my mind this brings me back to smokey because now we've seen the french crew all homicidally freaked out by what seems to be contact with smokey. So here i'm going to make my final conjecture. When locke saw the smoke monster, he said he "saw the island and the island was beautiful." What if this was the smoke monster doing his knewly understood business and entrancing locke in whatever way he is capable? causing locke to then become obsessed with keeping everyone on the island. this by the distributive property would seem to then suggest that arron might be in control of the smoke monster.
