Alright, so first off i just want to say that this is just a theory that have had for a while now and i don't have as many examples right now but i think that we will have much, much more in future episodes.
okay so in the season 3 finale "Through the Looking Glass" bean tells jack that "history is about to repeat its self" right after he mentioned the purge and how it killed so many people.
So the purge = the frieghter exploding and killing about the same amount of people. ben caused both the purge and the frieghter explosion. however jin survived the explosion and ended up on the island!!! so i think tha som one (or some people) survived the purge by leaving the island.
i'm thinking that Annie survived and her daughter. charolette. so i think that faraday was an other and a part of dharma. i think that daniel was in on the purge just like ben and daniel told charolette and annie to leave. but then how can that be? daniel is about the same age as charolette and charolette was a kid on the island. so how is that possible? i think that faraday is ageless. just like alpert. i think that after the purge he left the island with annie and charolette. but then i think that somthing happens and annie tries to keep the island a secret from charolette.
but anyway, back to the history repeating it self.
so in the season 5 episode "316" the O6 return to the island and hawking says that they have to recreate the crash. in other words repeating the crash.
Here is who i figure eqaul each other:
Sayid=kate: they were both arrested
ben=hurley: they were both late to board the plane
hurley=charlie: guitar case and everything
locke=christian: dead
sun=rose: worried about her husband
kate=claire: thinking about Aaron (even though on 815 Aaron wasn't born yet)
Jack=sawyer: reading a letter that hurt them emotionally
and then of coure jack wakes up in the jungle just like the piolt.
if what i said in the 3rd paragragh is true and some people really did get off the island somehow then it is repeated agian when the O6 got off the island.
and then the sky turning purple...
desmond turned the failsafe key and it was a sacrifice (or at least he through that it would be) and then at the end of season 4 ben turned the wheel as a sacrifice (not getting able to return to the island) and the sky turned purple agian.
and that's really all that i have to say....there aren't hat many examples to back up this theory but hopefully in the future we will get more...
