Okay, so my first "theory" if you will. Not sure if anyone else has thought of this, as I'm not a constant reader, but I thought I'd put it out there anyway.
I was watching the White Rabbit the other day and it flashes to a few things, including the speech from Jack's mom "he's gone again", and the moment where Christian tell Jack "don't be a leader". On first viewing I of course thought this was only pertinant to that episode and Jack's struggles, but now of course we know nothing on lost is that simple. So here's my theory:
Christian had to "die" to get Jack and Claire to the Island the way John has to "die" to get everyone back now. I can't help but think that Christian must have some previous connection to the Island the way Widmore and Ellie do. What if Christian's mission from the Island whether it be Jacob or any other manifestationwas to have his children come to the Island for the greater purpose that will unfold. this idea is not fully formed, but I wanted to put it out there and see if anyone had any ideas to build on it.
