Part 1: Jacobs Story
The Black rock is on its ill fated Journey to Thailand. Captained by Mangus Hanso, and holding several slaves, things are going well for the captains. They eat drink, get drunk and are marry for many nights on the journey, while the slaves chained up down below starve and suffer. One captain however, First mate Jacob takes pity on the slaves, and tries to treat them well.
However soon, the first mate starts acting strangely, with strange headaches. He is taken down below to rest.
Suddenly, a bright flash of light appears out of the ocean, which covers the ship.
The light reseeds, and the crew is shocked to find the ship is in the middle of the island. The captain and his men go ashore to explore.
Meanwhile, the First Mate Jacob begins having a strange dream. Voices in his head tell him that it’s his destiny to be here. It’s his destiny to free the slaves. Jacob rises from his bed, makes his way down below, and frees the slaves down below. They revolt and kill many on the ship.
When the captains return to the ship, the slaves are waiting and kill them too. The surviving captains escaped into the woods, but Captain Mangus Hanso is killed. A few of the women captains carry a young baby, that will grow up to be Ms hawking, and the seer for the descendants of the captains.
Richard, one of the slaves questions Jacob’s motives.
Jacobs Reply: “The Island told me to, they were bad people”.
Jacob and his group start to make their home on the island. Jacob shares his story of his island visions and that it was his destiny to come here and free his people. Jacob begins having more visions as the island seemingly guides him through life on the island.
His good friend Richard is his right hand man and helps him make choices. Jacob’s people begin to view him as their savior, as their messiah.
The island eventually guides the people to some negatively charged matter that they can use to build. The islanders begin to construct great stone statues, temples and other devices through the islands bidding (Including the donkey wheel).
Years pass, and the islanders begin to grow and populate. Jacob is rarely seen, going on lone walks through the woods, always coming back more and more intoned and faithful in the island.
When asked about his whereabouts he calmly replies “Iv been talking to the island”
One dark day however, six loan men appear out of the woods. They claim to be the last survivors of the captain’s crew. They beg and plead with Jacob to be allowed into the camp, and Jacob eventually agrees.
The men join the camp, and become hard working members. However one day during Jacobs hike, the men follow him out on his hike, and brutally stab him with makeshift weapons.
They return to camp and leave Jacob for dead.
The 6 men return to camp and announce what they done. Jacob is dead and they will claim leadership of the island. However, soon after this announcement, Jacob walks from a clearing, apparently fine.
He raises his hand and mutters some strange words, and from the ground bursts forth several holes, out comes a cloud of smoke, which grabs the men and drags them down into the holes to their death.
Jacob then announces that these were “bad men” and that no man shall be let into the camp without being judged. Their past and personality shall be judged by one of the group, and only then shall someone be allowed into the camp.
The surviving captains however, decide that fighting is useless, and decide to receed into the deepest parts of the island, hoping to live in peace with the others.
Years and years pass, and the ruling Jacob grows old and many fear he will die. One day Jacob, goes onto his final walk, he takes Richard, and a man named Ethan into the woods with him.
He shows them a spot in the ground, covered in white ash. This he explains is where he has been sitting and speaking to the island all those years through his thoughts. Jacob sits and gives one final speech to the island in the circle.
“Island, I am old, it is too late for me. I will give my life now, in a communion, for the well being of my people. Let all those past and future who believe in the island as I do, live a long life. Let those who believe in the island as I do be brought here, and given leadership of my people. And let those bad men out there who would look to destroy it be punished. Finally, let those who are worthy, yet posses little faith be shown the way.”
After listing to the islands repose he calmly says “It will be done” To his men he gives final orders. Richard: You shall find those like me who are strong in their faith, strength, and wisdom. Chose those who are worthy, bring them here, and let them lead my people.
To you Ethan: You will judge those lower men, yet are still faithful and want to join our people. You must separate the good men from the bad, and fill our ranks. If you must, leave our island to accomplish this. Only those who are originally from our tribe should be allowed to leave. If thy faith is not strong enough, the wonder of the outside world may pull them away, and they would be lost to us.
Both of you shall have long lasting life to accomplish these goals. Let your faith never waver, and let one whose intentions are not pure never rule our people.
Both Richard and Ethan Nod in agreement of Jacob’s words. Richard however asks one last question. “How will I know if someone is to lead us?”
Jacob replies: “He will be special, and I will be able to guide him through visions from the spirit world. The island will show him the way”
Jacob speaks again: A warning to you though, if your faith or the faith of a leader wavers, the islands protection will be lifted and his life is in his own hands.
Suddenly the ground shakes, and the black smoke emerges from the woods, and slams a strong pillar of smoke through Jacob killing him.
Part 2: Jacobs First Successor/the Black Rock Journal.
Richard and Ethan lead the survivors through many difficult years. They begin to build ships to leave the island. Only Ethan is yet allowed to leave, but he brings back many faithful people, as well as new books and items. They are surprised to learn one book “The book of laws’ closely resembles the teachings of their leader Jacob.
One day a boy is born with a strange talent. He is able to easily predict the coming of the weather. Many think it a useful talent, and Richard watches his up bringing with great interest. One day Richard takes him out into the woods and reads to him from the book of laws. The boy seems to agree with its words. Richard asks him if he would ever raise his weapon in anger against another. The boy replies no.
Richard takes him further through the woods pass the large while circle of white ash. The boy makes his way through the circle, stops, and listens. He asks Richard a question “Whys that man standing there all alone?”
Richard smiles and replies: “because he’s been waiting for you’
The boy proceeds further into the circle, and sits down, seemingly nodding his head and speaking to no one for along time. Richard waits at the edge of the circle and watches intently
The boy soon gets up and walks over to Richard.
Curious Richard asks “The man you were talking to, what was his name”
“Jacob” the boy says
Richard asks “What did he say?”
The boy replies “He said I have work to do”
For many years more things continued in such a fashion, the boy grew up and grew strong. He leads the other tribe members through Jacobs’s teachings. However despite his teachings, the man soon grew old, and passed away.
It was then that Richard understood why he was given such a power. It would be his life work to bring new leaders to the island.
The years rolled on, Richard bringing many new special ones to the island, or special ones being born into the island.
However one day, no new leaders emerged for a long time. The people were becoming LOST, as none was able to converse with their leader Jacob. Soon, a boy was born who seemed able to fill the void. Richard watched him as he did many other children, but saw several things which disturbed him.
The boy seemed disloyal to the teachings of Jacob, and was very argumentative, young and rash.
However, such desperation as they felt to speak with their leader, against his better judgment,
Richard brought the boy to Jacob early, and he became leader of the others.
This boys name was Charles.
Charles rule was still a great one, because as young and rash as he was, he was still taking orders from Jacob.
However there was something that everyone, including Jacob in his wisdom had forgot about.
Mangus Hanso, the captain of the ship had a very rich family and they were sending search parties into the sea to find him.
One day, one of these parties came ashore,
The man in charge, his child, and four other men came ashore. Upon stepping onto the beach the men were greeted by whispers, and out of the woods appeared many islanders holding boys. Richard was at the head of this group. He was about to order his men to fire, when he saw the cross around the black leaders neck.
Richard asked the man in charge: What is your name?
My name is Mr. Abandon. I’m looking Captain Mangus Hanso.
Richard, appearing to waver, feels a sting of guilty, and tells the man: You’d better come with me.
Richard, now a devote loyalist of the island, still felt guilty for the senseless slaughter of the captains crew. He brought Mr. Abaddon to the camp, and explained what happened. They explain to him about the island and how the captains had to be “purged” in order for the other side to live.
Mr. Abaddon and his crew are shocked at this, and seemingly allowed rest for the night.
While some islanders disagree, Charles is away speaking to Jacob and Richard ultimately makes the call.
The young boy, Abaddon’s son Matthew, was born unable to speak. However he seems strangely drawn to the island itself. Richard and a few islanders are helping load the group’s supplies back into his ship. Richard can sense Mr. Abaddon’s anger and hands him the black rocks journal to give to Magnus’s family.
Richard tells him to read it to understand why they did what they did and
Warns him that should he return for vengeance, the next people to arrive on the island won’t be so lucky as to leave with their lives.
As group is leaving the island Richard notices the boy straining to here something. He then looks blankly at Richard and asks “Whose John Locke?”
Richard, stunned at this doesn’t answer, and his worried yet happy father hurries him onto the boat.
Mr. Abaddon, on his journey home begins thumbing through the journal and begins to understand why his son was healed, and starts to understand how special the island is. Never the less, he makes the faithful decision to show the Black Rock journal to Hanso’s family.
Charles returns from his talk with Jacob, and makes a declaration that he can rule without Jacobs help. Richard disagrees, but Charles claims that he has merely been testing the islanders and that many of his recent decisions have not been from, Jacob but from himself. He claims that he has only been to see Jacob twice out of the nine or so trips he made out to speak with him. He claims that “I can be as great a man as Jacob, and lead you myself”
While Richard heavily disagrees with trying to survive without Jacob, there is nothing he can do as Charles is the only one who can talk to Jacob.
So, he lets Charles lead his people, warning him that should the island ever come under danger it may be Jacob who has to help them.
Part 3: The DHARMA Initiative arrives/ The Swan
The Hanso Foundation family (Eventually to be owned by Alvar Hanso) grieves for the loss of their family member.
Yet, they are intrigued by the black rock journal, and the mysterious island.
It is at this time that Karen and Gerald DeGroot bring their proposal for “a large-scale communal research compound where scientists and free-thinkers from around the globe could pursue research”
The Hanso foundation, curious about the island, Okays the DHARMA initiative to begin construction of their research stations on the island. Giving them the route taken by the Black Rock, the initiative is able to find the island and begin construction.
The islanders, unsure of how to combat the heavy machinery and their technology receed into the safer parts of the island to watch and wait.
However there are two large dangers to DHARMA before they even begin meeting the hostiles.
The first is the sickness. While landing on the island, many of the boat workers or electronics workers start acting strange or insane, eventually dying. DHARMA is unsure what the cause is, but assumes there must be some kind of sickness. Precautions are taken and new people brought to the island are sedated for the trip. This procedure seems to work and for a time the sickness rate decreases.
The second is the creation of one of the first stations “The Swan”
While drilling into a part of the island that clearly has stronger electromagnetic activity, DHARMA’s drills hits a chunk of negatively charged rock, causing a massive electromagnetic leak.
DHARMA however in its folly, seems to not notice the danger and continues building the hatch. However by the time it is near completion, it is clear the electromagnetic energy is building, and that a type of cork must be created. So, instead the “electromagnetic” station is build into a “dead mans switch” to keep a constant discharge of the electromagnetism and the official swan station is created.
One scientist however claims he has a way to seal the rock, but many are unsure of what effects it will have. This failsafe key is constructed by the scientists, but none will agree on what potential effects it will have. Some think it will solve the problem, while others believe the leak will continue threatening further station construction.
It is eventually decided that the key be given to the swan workers, with instructions that it only be used unless deemed absolutely necessary.
The rest of the stations and buildings however go off without a hitch, and for a time things are peaceful on the island and initiative is blissfully unaware of the hostile’s existence.
Many people are put into this Station throughout the years, and small changes are added (such as weapons once the hostile war starts) until eventually a year before the purge,
Two men named Radenskiy and Kelvin are put into the hatch. They take turns pressing the button for along time.
One day Radenskiy sees someone approaching the hatch. He bursts out in a hazmat suit gun in hand. The man claims his name is Dan Farady. He claims to be looking for a man named Desmond. Radenskiy asks if he’s their replacement and Dan says he is not.
Radenskiy doesn’t allow him in, claiming he could be a hostile. Dan shows him a journal with information about the Swan and claims he’s part of the DHARMA Initiative that just got hired.
Radenskiy invites him in, and Dan shows him many wonderful things about the Swan including how to fake a Lockdown. He also implies that it might be a good idea to make a map of the island in case anyone should ever needs to, and shows him how to create and hide it.
Radenskiy tells Des that the DHARMA has strict protocol about the Swan station, and only ever allows two people inside. One experience member (Which is Radenskiy, who has served in other stations like the Flame) and one new comer, in this case Kelvin.
Radenskiy and Dan seem to get a long, and but soon Dan decides he’s going to leave because Desmond clearly hasn’t arrived yet.
Radenskiy questions what he means by yet, and Dan becomes stressed. He shows Radenskiy a few more pages from his journal and tells him he’s from the future.
Radenskiy flips out and thinks he’s got the sickness. However Dan tells him he has a full proof way to show he’s telling the truth. He asks Radenskiy to wake up Kelvin, and send Kelvin outside to Ask Dan a question, and return inside with the answer. The Dan will have already given Radenskiy the answer, so if Kelvin gets the answer correct as well it will prove Dan exists.
Radenskiy agrees and asks the question; Dan replies “What does one snowman say to another snowman”
“Smells like carrots”
Dan goes outside, and Kelvin is sent out after him. However Dan has once again become unstuck and flips back through time.
Kelvin returns telling Radenskiy that theres no one there and Radenskiy become clearly stressed out.
He follows Dan’s advice and begins drawing the blast door map, and eventually kills himself and Kelvin is left alone during and after the purge until Desmond arrives on his boat and thus starts pressing the button too.
Desmond eventually catches Kelvin trying to escape and kills him, thus being left to press the button alone.
After the others commit the purge and take control of the stations, they use the pearl to keep watch over the Swan. Although a silent video does not give all the information, The Others believes they know what the station is for.
Part 4: The Purge of the DHARMA Initiative
Other than that, things proceed well for DHARMA. The Flame is used to call in food drops from off island stations and the research continues.
However, one day a man named Horace Godspeed decides to build a cabin for his wife. He commissions several members of the D.I to help him construct it. However he is unaware that the spot he chose for his cabin is within the circle of ash, and the location of Jacob.
Considering this land sacred, the hostiles begin to attack some of the DHARMA vans crossing the island. In retribution, DHARMA begins its trek deeper into the island. The technology of DHARMA rivals the bow and arrows of the hostiles, and they are able to run them out of their sacred temple.
Perhaps out of pure arrogance, DHARMA begins construction of a station around the temple, and begins to tear down the monuments to the past civilization.
This marks the start of a long and bloody battle between the hostiles and the DHARMA initiative.
Charles orders the hostiles to steal some of the technology from the D.I to use in battle (Much to Richards disagreement) and a stalemate is reached in the battle.
DHARMA however begins to discover some of the more technological based monuments of the civilization. They build a station over the strange wheel found on the island, and begin research on it.
Despite all this however, Charles in not willing to engage in open war with them, as to many casualties occur and open war could damage the island.
However a day was coming that would soon change everything. The arrival of Benjamin Linus.
One day while Richard was moving through the woods, Richard discovered Ben who claimed to be able to see his mother. Richard, told him that he could join the hostiles but only if he was “very patient”
For now, he told him to go back to the D.I complex.
Richard returned to Charles and told him what had transpired, Richard and many others agreed that having someone on the inside side could help turn the tide of the war.
Charles however is unable to except open war.
Something happens however that changes his mind. The D.I using polar bears, turn the frozen donkey wheel and move the island. The island moves and a the bears disappear.
Richard warns Charles that turning the wheel is dangerous, and if used too much could destroy the island. Charles finally agrees to use Benjamin.
Richard is pleased as he has an ulterior motive for using Ben, to remove Charles from leadership and reestablish communication with Jacob.
Over the years Ben makes visits with the hostiles and takes Richards “Items” test which he passes.
However Ben’s friendship with Annie is keeping him Torn. Ben finally decides to take Annie with him to live among the hostiles. During his time as a double agent he becomes a workman and learns much about the D.I’s stations including the Tempest.
Richard tells Widmore about Ben’s discovery, and Charles orders the complete death of the D.I. Ethan however is unconvinced, that there may be more among the initiative willing to join them.
Richard partly agrees with this, but Charles orders everyone’s death.
This discovery leads Richard to secretly take Ben to the ash Circle to try and talk to Jacob. However they are stunned to find the ash circle missing and the cabin gone.
Disappointed, Richard begins to take Ben back to camp, fearing Charles lack of discussion with Jacob has lead Jacob to desert them. Not long into the woods however the ash circle is discovered again, and the cabin lies in the middle. Richard is please that Jacob sot them out.
Ben enters the circle, and is drawn to the Cabin. Ben enters it, and for a long while doesn’t come out. When he finally does, Richard asks him what happened.
Ben says: “He says everyone without faith in the island should be punished, but those with faith should be saved” “The purge must begin in one week”
Richard hearing his answer takes Ben back to camp and readily agrees with the purge, as long as it is done in one week. This will give Ben time to find anyone who wants to join them. Charles unhappily agrees with Richard, that the purge WILL happen in a week wither he’s ready or not.
Richard orders Ben to go back to the Initiative and try and see if anyone will join them.
Ben brings back many people who are willing to join the hostiles in order for their lives to be spared (including Tom)
Before the war, the hostiles steal some small D.I ships from down by the dock and take the women and children into them, and tell them all to head on the correct bearing to leave the island.
A now pregnant Annie is one of them. As Ben is seeing her off, she Annie is relived, telling Ben that “I only came for you, I never really believed in all this island mombo jumbo anyway” The boats with the women and children (including a baby Charlotte) decide to pull out and leave the island.
As they are leaving, screams are heard and several of the boats burst into the flames. Ben then sees what’s causing it. Several D.I soldiers are opening fire on the boats. He sees the boat Annie was in burst into flames as several boats move out of range.
Ben is furious at himself for getting Annie pregnant, reasoning that she never would have left him if not for the baby.
The next day Ben angrily kills his father, and the hostiles activate the Tempest Gas station killing every member of the D.I on the island except for those in the Swan.
Widmore is escorted to the Orchid, and ordered to go down into the station and turn the wheel to move the island. That way the DHARMA initiative can never find it again.
Widmore angrily agrees, and as a parting shot warns that “He will find the island again and take it back from Ben” He also asks Ben “How do you think DHARMA knew about the leaving boats?” heavily implying that Widmore told DHARMA about the family boats.
Widmore turns the wheel, the island moves, and Ben takes leadership of the others.
Part 5: Alex and Mittelos Bioscience
Soon after the move, Ben discovers a science team has landed on the island and a young Rousseau gives birth. She seems insane however and begins killing off her crew for fear of a sickness.
Richard theories that the boat came from a different direction than usual and that may have something to do with the sickness. Ben’s emotional side gets the better of him and he orders his men to take the baby from the French women. They do so, Rousseau while slaughters the rest of her crew and Ben adopts Alex.
Rousseau goes away into the woods looking for her daughter.
Ben, inspecting the science vessels, starts to wonder how the others would function with more interaction with the outside world.
However the others are now in dire states as the island is at another new location, and many of the families that left on the boats never returned.
Ben makes an important decision. To move everyone into the DHARMA stations for protection and research, that way you they could understand more about the island, its barrier and where it went.
He also uses DHARMA’s resources left on the island to back small trips off island, and begins “Front” business so that Richard and Ethan can venture out into the outside world to bring back more potential others.
He also decrees that from now on only himself, Richard, and Ethan are permitted to leave the island. Others would be allowed ONLY if the exhibited the faith that they would return. Those that would clearly leave the island for good were never allowed to leave.
Yet, the submarine kept up the allusion that Ben allowed anyone to leave whenever they wanted.
The rule of Benjamin Linus had begun.
Part 5: Ben, and John Locke
Never had there been such a strange time in the others world. Bens rule brought MANY new “others” to the island. The research on the island allowed Ben to understand more about the islands barrier, and that with the right triangulation Ben could send a radio signal into the barrier, THROUGH TIME to initiative a food drop from the past.
However, young Ben was always more of a man of science, and soon discovered that pregnant women on the island were dying
He went to the cabin to speak with Jacob.
Jacob told him that “Only those who are meant to come here, and who have been judge by our people will be allowed to stay. Children are unpredictable, and unjudgable.” “They must die”
Further more, “This who would try and create new life, would be putting this island in danger, and thus deserve to die from their lack of faith”
Ben is unhappy with this decision, vows to use DHARMA’s technology to solve the problem.
Ben wastes much of his time bringing people to the island to work on the problem and try to allow pregnancy again.
Richard warns him about the danger of trying to go over Jacob’s head but Ben does not listen.
Richard understands how a lack of faith can be a dangerous thing, and continues to watch Ben.
One day down the road, Ben goes to see Jacob and gets a strange request. He tells Ben to ask Richard to test a boy off island named “John Locke”
He gives Ben a bearing to give to Richard, and Richard leaves the island to test Locke. Ben assumes he must want Locke to join the others, and is unaware young Locke is to replace him.
Upon Richards return however Ben discovers he took the testing book and other supplies finally learning the truth. Richard does not deny the true intentions of the test, assures Ben however that Locke failed the test and will not be a problem. Still, Ben remembers this betrayal from Jacob.
While Locke may have failed, the drawing of the smoke monster shows Richard he might later have potential and decides to keep an eye on him.
The years go on and Locke grows, Richard uses his bioscience front to try and draw him back, But Locke again refuses. Richard is really pleased, because this shows him that Locke has little interest in science, a trait that will make him a better leader than Ben, who tries to use DHARMA’s science to solve his problems instead of going on faith.
Ben meanwhile has grown into a man, and continues to work on the pregnancy problem, even bringing Juliet to the island. He learns the scientific cause of the problem, but no solution.
Then comes the day Ben fears, out for a walk in the woods, Ben sees the cabin and knows its time for a meeting.
No chitchat, Jacob outright orders Ben to bring John Locke to the island. Ben in his anger refuses. Jacob warns him of the consequences, and that bringing John Locke is the simplest way to solve the problem but Ben storms out anyway.
A few days later Ben discovers a tumor on his spine, and a balloon crashes on the island.
Ben proceeds out to the balloon and meets a man named Henry Gale. The two converses and Ben manage to pretend he is a member of the DHARMA initiative. Henry announces that he is working for a man named Widmore and has been looking for this place.
Scared that Widmore has found the island, Ben quickly kills and buries him, hoping this was enough to keep the location a secret.
A little while later, Oceanic Flight 815 crashes on the island.
The island, sensing the pilot was not supposed to be on the island (Frank was), applies course correction and uses the Smoke Monster to kill him.
Part 6: Flight 815 Crashes/discovery of the Swan/Walt’s Powers.
Ben sees a prime opportunity to get new people into his ranks, and sends out Ethan and Goodwin to gather lists and figure out whom to take.
Meanwhile, he uses his loyalist Mikhail whom the others brought to the island to use the Flames computer to find information about the Survivors. Mikhail one day also discovers a failsafe system in place; where as beating the chess game and entering 77 would allow one to announce a hostile attack. Reading some of the manuals in the station, they discovered that entering 77 would destroy the station.
Ben discovers that one of the survivors is a surgeon and plans to use him to remove his tumor without Jacobs help. Ben thinks that with a surgeon and the healing properties of the island on his side, the plan will be a sure success.
Meanwhile at the crash site of flight 815 the island finds two people whose faith is so strong; they rival that of the original inhabitants and thus are given life. Christian Shepard, whose spirit is revived, and John Lock, who regains the use of his legs.
There is one whose faith is also fairly strong, and could also be a good leader, Mr. Eko. There is also a clearly special boy Walt, but with no faith. The others agree research must be done on these two.
The taken of the tail section crew go well, but Goodwin is sure that one of them is a “good person” until she kills him. Ben is glad Goodwin is gone, because of his relationship with Juliet, but still wants Anna to pay because shes a “bad person”.
The people brought from the tail section are brought into the others society. In the real world, it sometimes takes several attempts to get someone to agree to join their society. Ben however believes that since they have been “taken” they are put into the Room 23 machine, and brainwashed into believing in the others society.
The others than decide to focus on the main section survivors. However Ethan is soon discovered before completing his list, and killed.
Christians Spirit goes on a “walkabout” of sorts on the island, seen and heard many places discovering all of the islands secrets, eventually settling within the circle of ash to serve Jacob. Jacob convinces Christian to serve as his agent, to help him in convincing the less faithful of flight 815 of their destiny.
John Lock’s journey to the islands secrets is filled with death, loss of his legs, and tests of his faith.
The castaways eventually discover the Hatch and Desmond. The hatch is under constant observation from the others.
Meanwhile the others make their move and kidnap Walt. They bring him to the Hydra and Richard administers the test he gave to Locke.
Walt fails, but Ben believes that he may still be a part of their village with some training.
Walt is hooked up to the Room 23 brainwashing machine that Cindy and the tail section people were brought to, but Walt’s powers manifest.
Ben begins to realize that Walt may be able to resist their methods and may need to be returned. However they are woeful of letting the survivors know TOO much about their operation which is why they continued to use their “powerless villager” persona. He starts to feel Walt may be more trouble than he’s worth, and orders him Locked in the Hydras underwater room.
However for now Ben continues with his plan to bring Jack to the Hydra. He watches him on the pearl.
On the other side of the island the others are constructing a decoy village and a fake hatch.
Beau Clue comes to the Hydra and asks Walt to use his “powers” to speak to his father. Walt thinks hard and his thoughts come through the Swans computer to Michael.
Michael eventually leaves and goes looking for Walt. Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Locke go looking for him.
Afraid they will discover the decoy village under construction; Tom captures Kate, trades her for the guns and orders her to stay on the other side of the line. Declaring to cross it would bring war.
Two days later the village is finished, and Michael is brought there where he is questioned about his relationship with his son and held for some time.
Ben plans to use Michael lure Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley to the paella ferry where they can be taken to the hydra. All seems to be going well.
Part 7: Ben as Henry Gale
Then it happens, Ben is once again sees the cabin and is brought before Jacob.
Jacob gives Ben two orders, the first, is to go to the survivors and bring him John Locke.
The second is to begin construction of a runway.
Jacob declares if this is done his tumor will be healed.
Ben agrees, knowing as of now he has no other choice. However he plans to discredit Locke once he arrives, and orders Lockes father to be brought to the island.
Ben has a plan, to go into the survivor’s camp under the false name of Henry Gale, pretending to be a balloon survivor work his way into the camp, Find John Lock, and bring him to Jacob.
However what Ben didn’t count on was getting captured by Rousseau, having his status as an “other” revealed and put into the Swan.
He also didn’t consider Claire, Kate and Rousseau would find the Staff, and discover their fake outfits.
However sitting in the Swan, Ben comes up with a plan to get rid of Locke. He knows the others will soon be requesting a food drop and he thinks he can use the lockdown (he knows about it from watching the pearl) to his advantage.
Anyway, the day comes, the Lockdown occur, Ben climbs through the vents, presses the button, than activates the Blast Door Map, to reveal the Pearl to Locke, where he will find the Pearl tape discrediting the Swan.
He then steps into the camera to insure the others know he is there, and writes a message on a piece of paper for them to see
“Send Michael to free me, and kill Anna-Lucia”
The Balloon search party returns and His other status are revealed. His fear of Jacob prevents him from revealing anything about his people.
Locke confronts him about why he helped him, and Ben “reveals” that he never pressed the button, putting much doubt into Locke.
Now, the others that monitor the Pearl give send Bends orders to the face camp, So Walt is brought to Michael from the Hydra, and Michael is given his instructions.
When Jack and Kate try to exchange Ben for Walt, Michael is thrust forward.
A visit from Anna Lucia prompts Ben to attack her and try and finish the job himself. Locke knocks him out, and Ben later reveals his reason for coming to camp.
Michael then kills Anna Lucia, AND Libby, and then he frees Ben.
Michael’s boat is prepared for leave, as is Walt.
Ben is confident that the destruction of the Swan will end his Locke problem.
Part 8: The Chosen one: 2nd Option.
Lockes disturbing lack of faith about the button prompts the island to consider its second option. Mr. Eko.
The island uses a vision of Yemi, to lead Eko and the faithless Locke to the Pearl, and gauge their reactions to the tape.
Eko still believes the button is important, while Locke disagrees.
At this point Desmond returns to the island, and Michael leads Jack, Kate and Sawyer to the pala Ferry.
Meanwhile Eko and Locke fight over the button, the system failure occurs and Des activates the failsafe.
In the aftermath, Eko is captured by Polar Bears and the island entrusts Locke to save him.
Eko is given a final vision to see if he will repent his past actions and give himself to the island. However Eko feels no guilt for his past and thus cannot be manipulated. Jacob considers him unusable and The island than uses the monster to kill him.
Locke’s faith however has been restored, and the island decides to continue to use him.
Around this time, Mittelos Bioscience spies discover Widmore has found the island and is sending out a freighter.
Ben realizes now what his actions at the Swan did, and curses himself. Tom is sent out to recruit Michael as a spy and puts him on Widmore boat.
Ben however is glad that John Locke is dead, as if he was not all these mistakes would have probably caused the island to abandon and kill him.
Part 8: Ben: Man of Science shattered.
Ben meanwhile uses Kate and Sawyer to help construct the runaway, and tries to break down Jack in order to get him to heal h his tumor.
However, without Jacob’s consent, Jack must WANT to heal his tumor, only then will the islands power help Ben heal quicker and survive the surgery. This loophole would mean the island was helping Jack and not Ben.
Jack is eventually convinced and with the help of Juliet saves Kate and Sawyer at the same time.
After they escape, Jack helps save Juliet’s life (However she is marked as a traitor to the Others society.) and agrees to help Ben heal in order to leave the island. Ben agrees, yet is worried about what this may mean. Worse still, the islands powers have not taken effect yet as he still cannot walk.
Meanwhile Locke tries his best to save Jack on his own, but only succeeds in discovering an eye patch man.
However with the help of a returned Kate and Rousseau Locke decides to make the journey.
Locke however has a secondary motive, following the message inscribed on Mr. Eko’s stick.
This message leads Locke’s group to the Flame, which then leads to the Barracks.
While Kate and Sayid try and Save Jack, Locke follows his destiny.
That destiny is a meeting with Benjamin Linus. This is when Ben begins to realize the threat of Lock. He realizes that not only did Locke survive the explosion, but without his help, Jacobs order was obeyed.
John Locke has come to the others.
Ben however plans to use Locke’s father to try and save his leadership.
Locke however has other plans. He is disgusted by Ben’s use of technology and claims Ben doesn’t understand the island or even deserves to be there. Ben considers this but decides to go ahead with his plan.
Locke however has other plans. His time with the button has convinced him technology on the island is a bad thing, and has been on a campaign to destroy DHARMA’s old research. He already destroyed the Flame, and now destroys the submarine.
This coincides perfectly with stopping Jack and Juliet from leaving the island, making BOTH Ben and Locke happy.
Locks father is revealed, and Locke is offered an invitation to leave with the others. Lock does so, but fails the test to kill his father.
However Richard finally steps forward and tells Locke what’s going on, and gives Locke a means to solve the problem.
Locke uses Sawyer to kill his Father, and brings the body to Ben in order to learn more about the island. The island however is aware of his cheat.
Ben realizes that Lock could NOT have had a change of heart already and could not have killed his father and realizes he may not be the next chosen one after all.
He decides to test Locke himself, and tells Locke about Jacob, agreeing to take him there.
Even the arrival of Naomi from the freighter could not prevent this meeting, and Locke “briefly” speaks to Jacob. An angry and scared Ben leads Locke to the mass grave and shoots him.
However Locke survives, thanks to a vision from the island. He then arrives just in time to kill Naomi. The 815ers have been fighting a campaign of freedom against the others, ending with the deaths of Tom, Picket, and Mikhail. As well as Bens Capture. Ben’s bad karma has finally caught up with him and things fall apart for the others.
Locke however fails to prevent Jack from calling the freighter.
What’s to follow, is the islands attempt at course correction as things have clearly deviated from the original plan.
Part 9: The Beginning of the End.
The freighter 4 comes to the island, recruited by Matthew Abbaddon. Abaddon’s time on the island as a small child has given him a type of communion with it, and he has been doing its bidding off island for many years. He sends these 4 to the island because the island commanded it.
Dan, suffering of the time sickness from his own experiments, and able to understand much about the island. Most think hes a physic of some sort, and are unaware of his future time travel events.
Milles, a speaker of dead spirits, able to communicate with the dead of the island as well.
Charlotte, born on the island
And Frank, the pilot SUPPOSED to be on flight 815.
Widmore’s freighter arrives next to the island, with Michael onboard as a spy. Two of the crew members, Minkowski and Brandon try and arrive on island but the islands energy, combined with the radiation from their work at the communications radio causes them to become unstuck in time and eventually die.
Regina takes over as communications officer and is eventually driven insane by the time displacement. She commits suicide.
Jacob meanwhile, knowing what’s about to occur, tries to draw Hurley into the cabin ( at Christians bidding), angered at Lockes failure to stop the freighter from being called.
Jacob knows what Hurley learned from Charlie.
Christian has advised him that Hurley’s gentle spirit will be the best chance to convince Jack that the freighters are evil. Hurley however escapes and goes with John, splitting the 815ers into 2 distinct groups.
Jacks group works towards getting off the island, while Locke gets most of his people killed.
Ben’s daughter is killed, because his leadership is controlled by Locke. Ben’s island protection has been totally lifted, and thus the rules no longer apply to him.
He knows for sure his position has been usurped. So he and Locke convince Hurley to take Locke to the cabin. Locke gets a vision from Horace about the cabins origins and where to find it.
Ben comments that he used to have visions, and everyone used to make him believed he was special. Ben Warns Locke that destiny will turn on him to serve its own purpose.
Locke eventually finds the Cabin and goes inside to speak with Jacob. Through Christian, Jacob conveys the order to move the island. Christian has also moved Claire inside the cabin to insure she doesn’t die from the islands movement.
Knowing he has no other choice, Ben takes Locke to the orchid to move the island. Keamy’s Men arrive on the island, but Locks position to power helps their karma and the last surviving others arrive and win the battle.
Ben and Locke go down to the Orchid and Keamy follows, eventually being killed by Ben.
Michael plays his role and defends those on the freighter, keeping it from blowing up as those from 815 get aboard.
The plane takes off just as the boat explodes; allowing new Michaels purpose to be served.
Despite the islands best efforts (like a bullet miraculously hitting the planes fuel tank) and Jacks health problems (Which was SUPPOSED to keep him on the island) the island moves, Ben is removed (as planned) but the 06 are not on the island.
Part 10: The Island reaches off island
Now that 06 have left the island, decided to lie to protect the island and are going on with their lives. However things are not good as Benjamin Linus is trying to get revenge for the death of his daughter, Sun has a baby coming, Sayid’s love is killed, Kate is hauled into court, and both Jack and Hurley are being haunted by apparitions.
Finally, everything comes to a head when John Locke leaves the island and tries to convince everyone to return. After failing he dies presumable from suicide.
John is actually allowed to die, as this is eventually a catalyst for Jacks and the 06’s return to the island.
Part 11 what it all Mean’s/ guesses for Season 5
Now here is some of my personal explanation. I believe that the two most important aspects of the show are faith, and the islands end game.
On this island, you can do anything as long as you believe and serve the island. Ben has proven this time and time again. It’s only when hes removed from power that things start to really go wrong.
I predict Seasons 5 and 6 will deal more with the islands plans for everyone. Is John REALLY destined to lead the others and failed? Or was he a pawn from the start? What of his picture of the smoke monster, a throwaway wtf moment? Or definitive proof that Locke is as special as Walt?
What happens if they DON’T come back? Will the island give everyone a final beep you by killing them?
Finally, what WAS the islands original end goal has it changed? Can Jacks single mistake of calling the freighter be rectified? Or was THAT even a mistake?
------------
The following is how I think the end will play out
I believe that we will eventually reveal the that the Island itself isn’t special, but it contains a certain consciousness, (created by the islands negativly charged exoctic matter) that surrounds it.
From the looks of the season 5 trailer, the islands consciousness will be blipping through time to different parts.
Than the trailer shows Locke yelling in the rain for help, seemingly left alone. I believe it is at this point the islands consciousness fully moves through time taking the others with it, leaving Locke alone on a NORMAL island. This is how he leaves the island, its barrier and mind has left leaving him free to leave (I feel the wheel is TOO dangerous to be used again).
John starts working with Abbaddon, the off island servants of the island to bring them back. Matthew assues John that not EVERYONE really needs to return and if he can get most of them everything will be alright.
John is revealed, because he feels Jack will not return, but everyone else will.
I believe that what finally convinces Jack of everything about the island is Johns visit. During this visit(Prob in episode 6) Jack will learn of Johns paralysis, and of his conversation with Jacks father(a revelation for BOTH John and Jack)
The knowledge of Johns cure, and his only island convo will his father(John will no doubt tell him somthing only the real Christian could know) will EVENTUALLY convince Jack to return. However he is unable to convince the rest to return on his own.
John, now thinking he has failed, and believes the island has abbaondend him and realizing the important off bringing Jack back, feels he let the island down and attempts to kill himself. He succeeds as his death eventually convinces everyone to come back.
The Losties ON island meanwhile, will live during DHARMA’s time working with them, surviving, and even preventing the purge to save them selves.
This moment, the time travel has been the purpose of the island all alone. Except the survivors make a terrible mistake. They side with DHARMA,
when instead the islands entire purpose was for them to help the HOSTILES rid the world of DHARMA.
Then, when ALL the 06 return, acting as constants the islands consciousness will restick itself back on the island pulling everyone back.
Than in Season 6, a reformed DHARMA (because during season 5 the Losties will somehow prevent the purge) will fight the survivors in a war leaving the island barren.
The war over and the island saved, many survivors will leave, while one(maybe Ben) will turn the wheel the opposite direction, seemingly resetting the island, sending back to where it started.
The Black Rock, THUS starting the cycle over again, while letting most of the Losties escape.
The biggest question of all however, is, will anyone read this?
