I got an idea for connecting the timejumps into a logic. I got thinking:
Damon and Carlton are always trying to connect all the events in a strange network of coincidences, like the books some characters read have a story that relates to the character, or the numbers in Hugo's and the rest of 815ers life... numbers???
What if the time jumps, for some strange reason (like Carlton and Damon's apetite for coincidences..), are according to the magic numbers in the Swan Hatch? (I read a theory somewhere here that the Swan could be a mechanism to balance the Island's energy, so that it wouldn't be skipping like a record if it was needed to turn the wheel... but off we go!)
Imagine this, the Island is bouncing back and forth from the Past to the Present (the numbers as years it goes back in the past). That would be a wonderful excuse for putting our losties witnessing some past events on the Island.
So let's try this:
2004-4= 2000 - Desmond is in the hatch, yemi's plane crashes (5x01)
2004-8= 1996 - Desmond gets to the Island (unseen)
2004-15= 1989 - ?? event unknown (unseen)
2004-16= 1988 - Rousseau's team arrives to the Island
2004-23= 1981 - the Purge happens, and Widmore starts trying to find the Island (remember Miles saying that "[Widmore]has been searching for the Island for more than 20ys")
2004-42= 1962 - There are some military pre-Dharma in the Island whose purpose is still unknown (5x02)
2004-108= 1896 - Wow, that would be awesome... Maybe finding some people from the Black Rock?
That would explain why Juliet is flashing with our Losties, not with Richard's group. Because the only people who timeskip would be the ones who were not on the Island on the nearest iteration possible, year 2000.
Guess we'll only see if this is right on the rest of the season, but hey, still want your comments on this!
