All righty ppl, who else loved the premiere? Anyway...I think I got an interesting grasp at some future events that are about to take place, and I'm basing these on my own opinions and not spoilers which I diligently read here ;)
Anyway moving on...There is so much to take in from the premiere. As some people may have seen in another post I did (I think under another name) I speculated that Ben got kicked off the island not only because of turning the wheel, but because since the island is jumping around, unlike Richard, he would regress to his teen form and therefor not be useful to Jacob or the island's current plan. This though is just a small part of my bigger theory. Here we go. We all know that LOCKE DIES *GASP* but in all honesty, I've been thinking about how he gets off the island and dies, and how the island may be stopped from jumping in time. The answer...I think Locke has to turn the wheel.
Think about it. If Locke turns the wheel he then will take the name of Jeramy Bentham, and then will be able to visit with Jack and the rest. Locke turning the wheel will also be a likely way to turn the island time jumping off. One push on, one push off. It's a switch. The only difference is that because Locke has to "die" the idea of him never returning like Ben almost seems like its a different situation. Maybe Locke can't return...ALIVE. If he returns dead then Jacob or smokey mc smokerson can take control of Locke and use him for their purposes.
Now let's look at Widmore for a sec. He claims that the island was once his...and he's a prissy brit, so the fact that the people that Juliet and Sawyer take hold of are either Other's or Danielle's team that defected to the others. There is no way in hell at this point that it would be logical to add a fifth freaking faction to the mix (losties(front and back), others(including hostiles), dharma, freighters) that isn't part of the already established mythology (ok...maybe the people who made the monster and the statue will eventually appear, but come one...how many sides does one conflict need). If there is a fifth group at the moment, it would have to be Richard's original hostiles before the purge, or the research team. Danielle is French, but that doesn't mean the rest of her crew were. Maybe they got nutso after landing and starting thinking that the island was theirs, but in all honesty I still think Richard is pulling the strings and at this point is his people.
Richard is probably one of my fav recurring characters because he adds such a different perspective on the Others. He always seems to be doing what is in everyones interest, he seems to actually be a truthful person (Juliet and Ben apparently missed out on "How to reveal plot twist as an other truthfully 101"), and lastly he doesn't seem evil. Like really almost every character has a dark side to them but seriously...does anyone else think this guy is like WAYYY to chill? He is like the padge lama of the others and has let the likes of ben f&^@ up the island for years, but he still seems calm and genuine, always providing answer...why is that? Cause the dude I think honestly has seen the end. He is just a constant on the island. The island lives, he lives, the island dies...well maybe it just loops all over again but that's irrelevant right now. What people should be noticing though is that creepy test that alpert gave to locke actually included the compass he gave him i! n the future. I don't really know what the compass represents at the moment besides probably saving locke the hundredth bullet to the leg when he inevitably encounters Richard in the next few episodes, but the compass is def important (probably points to Jacob, or maybe the temple, or even the next place Locke is always destined to go)
Anyway I'll end on this. SMOKE MONSTER IS SO BACK SOON. We know that Danielle and her research team encountered it, its like the only thing she actually seemed to admit having any knowledge too, and since the island is jumping, and team Lindelof and Cuse both promised us the story...well what better time to tell the story then have the cast witnessing Daniel's team getting just massacred by the thing. I don't know if we will necessarily find anything new about it soon, but I know its coming, we ALL know its coming, and I'm happy because its probably the one question I actually give two SH&(^S about finding out.
Anyway be gentle with responses lol, I hope u enjoyed my ramble, please leave feedback and NAMASTE.
