my theory is based on the fact that the producers kept saying that rule of phisics are obeyd.
the flash we see at the end of season 4th is being visable by everyone on the island. we were told that that flash occured because of some special reason, i.e bens turning the wheel.
next time we see the flash we see it from 2 perspectives. lock at the aircraft and daniel with the crew at the hatch. i believe that the producers tell us that only this specific people (this includes the
rest of oceanic 815 at the beach) are affected by the flash. i repeat again, what we see at the aircraft and at the hatch is the same flash, seen by different people.
the next time we see the flash is when daniel speaks with desmond and richard takes the bullet out of locks leg. once again i repleat this is the same moment. we see again that flash is not seen by
richard as previously was not seen by ethan. but we also see that DESOND DOES SEE THE FLASH.
what does it mean ? i will explain in a minute.
so after that flash we see Daniels dissapearing for some time (2 hours as Sawyer says). but we can assume that now we are in the late 80s in the dharma time.
back to the beginning of the episode we see Daniel down in the darma station. ok, here it is.
what about this. after daniels spoke to desmond and flashed appeared, daniels is at the swan station back in the 80s. what could he see ? a construction work ? what is he imediately change the clothes and go
on the dharma bus and he goes to the arrow station, see what he has seen and hes back on the beach ? his short missing is explained.
the rest of the episode is linear, lock meets the juliet and sawyer and we are aware that they are in the same time.
so far its easy and simple. what about desmond ? he did see the flash as daniel did. it can be explained this way. until that very moment desmond was not aware of this memory. he wokes up the other day and he rememberes, just because it has happened now.
why the others did not see the lighting ? well, what they seen was for example for ethan it was a men lying on the
ground, talking out of his mind and dissapearing.
but it had happened in the past but this past
was in the future. do you get it ?
as faraday said you cannot change the future, so if you go in the past and you live it, but whatever you were doing is not affecting the future, because what you were doing in the past is only happening from your perspective and in fact is doing in your time, ie future.
