Believe we were recently told that we would indeed be learning more about the statue, what if this is not a big reveal, but rather a small part of THE big reveal?
What if the four-toed statue wasn't so much about the lost civilzation that was there before (or will have been there, based on the theories of evolution and losing a toe, and time travel or time-looping)? But more importantly who is the inspiration/model for the statue? What if we are not meant to know who the statue is of? Why can't I stop writing in questions?
My theory regarding the four-toed statue:
there is a thought that its a remenant from the ancient peoples that inhabited the island
ok, cool. It's an indication from TPTB that there was a great civilization on the island at one time. Time being what it is on LOST, that could mean that that ancient civilization could be from the future. That being said, it makes it possible that ANY ONE of our characters could be the basis for this statue. Let us say that this statue is not of a four-toed person/creature, but rather an accurate monument to someone who has four toes on their left foot.
One of our characters may have four toes on his/her left foot, and we haven't seen it yet, OR also possible (and one of my original ideas that brought me to this) it hasn't happened yet! it is possible then, that we've seen a very little amount of the remnants of a very large statue, just enough to know (A)its crumbling or at least worn down from weather after being torn down, thus showing its been around for a very long time, and (B) it has four-toes on its left foot, AND ONLY THAT MUCH. It is very possible the the four toes have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH EVOLUTION.
So keeping in mind this theory of it being someone we already know, we wouldn't need to see a whole statue if it were revealed that **insert character name here** was (A) shown to have four-toes or (B) in the course of the show have (in a possibly innumerable number of ways) they're left pinkie toe removed (possibly in a final battle for the island?) near the end of the series showing us that:
(A) One of the "older" entities of the island such as Jacob, Widmore, Abbadon, Alpert, etc. were at one time leader of the people that inhabited the island and have been revealed to be so, and finally defeated or returned to power.
ex.: we see a flashback to Jacob having only four toes, thus cementing the fact that he really was in charge of the island. Giving us the new question of was he or will he become with the 815er's help.
(B)One of our beloved losties will have will have become (not a typo, I'm talking future and past meeting, or time travel, or something we dont know yet) god/ruler/savior. ex.: in the final moments of the climax of season 6 we see Jack get his foot shot at and once the healing and restoration (see LOTR:ROTK ending(s)) has begun, we see a healed Jack walking barefoot among his people with a slight limp favoring the still sore missing pinkie toe on his left foot.
Someone out there help me sort this out, debunk it, or help prove it, I dont have the initiative or DVR to do any deep research on this.
Thanks for your time.
