Theory I have this feeling that in S6 a ressurected GHOST Locke is gonna become more like a guide, and that JACK will become the newest man of faith, protector, and leader of the island.
However with all Focus put on Locke, I think there has got to be a BIG reason why the island wants this to occur.
I think tThat In s6 we will find out they pulled a BioShock and disocver Jack was born on the island.
Its the only real reason why they could justify replacing Jack with Locke(Yeah hes dead, but the island could have protected him)
Locke always had more faith, did more for the island, so what makes Jack more special than Locke?
Well I thought back to a quote from Ben "I was born here, im one of the last of my people that was, and thats why Jacob trusts me".
Sure Ben WASNT born on the island, but that line makes me think that the Others/the island do treat people born on the island better than outsiders.
Would maybe explain the whole "Fate" thing. Jack was always ment to return to his island home. Maybe all the random connections, ultimatly connect to Jack, and thus his fate to come back, brings others along too. The rest of the 815 survivors would then become his followers
It also conincides with Mikhials line "The man that brought all our people here, he is a magnificiant man!"
Maybe he didnt mean Jacob literally BROUGHT the people there, but his life was connected to theirs, and he fate guided Jacob and his followers to the island. This could work out the same way for Jack.
Also, it would explain how Jack was able to do all those great feets OFF island(Like the healing sugery). Its like the islands power would always be a part of him,
Who knows, for sure, not me its just a theory.
but I have a feeling if they DO make Jack the new main of faith, we are gonna find out SOMTHING that makes Jack a better choice than Locke, it could be somthing in his personality, I dont know,
but whatever it is, it has to be BIG or Locke fans are not going to accept the sudden change.
I think Jack being born on the island would be a good twist and a big enough reason.
