There has been a lot of speculation lately as to how the o6 will manage to get back to the island. theories of teleportation and wormholes and timelines etc. are being thrown around like a female convict on a deserted island with a doctor and a conman on it. i suggest that the answer is going to be a little more direct.
i think the o6 will end up getting back to the island the same way that the others supposedly got back and forth, the submarine. i'm thinking back to a quote that i read in a previous lost magazine, where in an interview with terry o'quinn he was talking about the scene where he "blew up the sub." terry said something to the effect of " i was standing there getting soaked while they showered me with a garden hose thinking to myself,'now , why the heck would they need to me do this'?" the answer is because he never blew the sub up to begin with.
it appears that terry o'quinn doesn't seem to think locke blew it up either. even when ben says that he has a few ideas how they could get back,i could see ben knowing now that the sub wasn't destroyed.i'm not even sure that it's the sub by itself that gets them back and forth but it does seem as though that the sub at least played some role in the others' travelling to and from the island and i think that we will see that happen again coming up with the o6.also,this could very well be how locke left the island to begin with. i think locke knew that the sub could end up being a powerful bartering chip to have in his possession and that it would be worth more to him intact then blown up.
so i think he tricked everyone into thinking it was destroyed, somehow moved it / hid it. (thats when he got soaked) then the day came when he realized how important it was to get the o6 back to the island but also how dangerous and unpredictable it would be to turn the wheel, not to mention banishing himself in the process if he turned it himself! amd then retrieved the sub,got off the island and suggested t! o the o6 returning in the sub, somehow got killed, then brought back dead to the island by the o6 via the sub.another thought i'd like to throw in there is that regardless of whether or not he blew it up,if the island went back in time,it would probably be before the sub was destroyed anyway.
c'mon season 5!!!
