Sorry guys, I am back again!
I posted a theory about time traveling before, but I saw a few days ago on ABC a video where Lindelof spoke of reincarnation.
So what if I was wrong about time travel, meaning that Locke did not conscious traveled to the past, but was the reincarnation of Jacob?
What if he was not healed by the island, although it helped, but he had this ability all along?
Remember him jumping from the building? Come on, who would survive such a crash?
So far we know that he survived premature birth, fought many diseases as a baby and Abaddon suggested he could walk while in the wheel chair.
I believe this ability to heal comes from Jacob. He was born with it.
Richard’s meeting with young Locke strongly resembles the Tibetan Buddhist rituals used to confirm a reincarnated Dalai Lama. Richard gives him many items to chose. And of course we all thought that those items belonged to our future Locke. But I think those items belonged to Jacob instead.
Richard knew all along that Locke was Jacob's reincarnation, that is why he came to see him at the hospital.
But I believe he is not the only one. Ben, Widmore, Christian and probably Jack could also be reincarnations.
Firstly, Ben claims to speak to Jacob and has been chosen by Richard to be the leader. What is more, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse described an interesting relationship between Jacob and Ben, which is more of a symbiosis than a master/servant role. Reincarnation relationship maybe?
Now we know that Widmore speaks of the island as being his and blames Ben for taking everything from him. So Widmore was apparently a former leader of the island, and thus likely to be another reincarnation.
Christian is in the cabin and can talk on behalf of Jacob. So what if he also was a reincarnation of Jacob?
Widmore and Christian are quite similar, in the sense that the both have a superiority complex. Widmore has got much power and thinks he is better than anyone else.
Same thing for Christian who takes risks as a surgeon and thinks he has got what it takes to get over his mistakes (unlike Jack!).
Now who would not have such a complex if he was the reincarnation of Jacob, who is apparently very powerful?
Now, what about Jack? First the tatoo: he is a leader! Secondly when he left the island, things started to go wrong. John apparently needs him back. So would that make Jack as important for the island as John Locke? Yes, which would mean that Jack is another reincarnation. Or to a lesser degree, just be of the same bloodline as Jacob.
So is it why all the characters are linked to some degrees to one another? I am not sure what the other characters are, but they certainly have something to do with Jacob too.
Now let’s have a look at the meeting between Ben, Jacob and Locke. The producers have confirmed that the eye was Jacob’s. But what about the figure we see sitting on the chair?
In response to the question if the role of Jacob had already been cast, Damon Lindelof said: “False, you do see a guy, but… I’m still sticking to my false” .
That would mean that the man sitting on the chair is not Jacob. Well doesn’t he look more like a survivor of some kind??? Long hair, old clothes and beard?
Could he simply be an old reincarnation of Jacob who might have survived the Black Rock?
Because, to me it does not make any sense that Jacob fires at Ben (if you hear carefully, a shot is fired when ben confronts Jacob) and would not speak to John Locke.
(now do not ask me why Ben was not killed after the shot and why the flames disappear after the candel fell on the floor! That is another mystery)
However, John hears Jacob’s voice (help me), which by the way does not match the appearance of the man sitting on the chair. The voice sounds more like surreal, as if God Himself was speaking. That is why I think Jacob is not really human, but more spirit like and actually I do not expect to see him in the last two seasons of the show.
When Hurley sees the cabin he also sees many people in the cabin and I believe they are all reincarnations of Jacob, including Christian. Now does that mean that Hurley too is a reincarnation, thus explaining why he was summoned to the cabin?
It is very early for me to tell at this stage, but you will notice that all the characters of the show have something in common: dreams and apparitions. Hurley (who on top of that can see dead people), Ben, John, Claire, Charlie, Kate, Jack etc…
Note that women too can be reincarnations of men. That would make Claire another candidate for being the reincarnation of Jacob and enabling her to be in the cabin.
Well, could it be that simple? Of course not. I think there is something more complex about it. But reincarnation is defintely something we must think of.
I would also like to add that not all reincarnations are good people. That is probably why Richard was angry at Locke when he chose the knife, thinking he might be evil.
The man sitting in the cabin’s chair could well be evil, same with Ben and same with Widmore. That could explain the white and black stones found in Adam and Eve’s corpses. Well just a thought.
Another thought, which has nothing to do with reincarnation: I would also like to mention that Richard as well as the Others have all assumed a fake identity when they wore disguises. They pretended to be crash survivors: old clothes, long hair, beard (just like the man sitting in the cabin!)
I first thought that they tried to protect their identities from the Losties or the DI, but that would not make any sense
I think there is something more complex about it. What if they were trying to protect themselves from a danger. Remember, Jacob hates technology! All technology on the island is burried underground or hidden, or even protected by a sonar fence. There is no doubt to me that without this protection, the black monster would destroy it all!
Thanks for your time and bye for now.
