What if the Alex in the show, isn't Danielle's real daughter? This may sound totally crazy and yes, there is heaps of evidence to the contrary, but it is still possible and I don't think it can be totally debunked.
The 'real' Alex is actually ... Charlotte.
Charlotte says that she is still looking for the place where she was born. Miles asks her why she wants to leave the island since she's been looking for it basically her whole life, and finally, she seems overly excited when she finds the Dharma collar in Tunisia, suggesting she was born on, or at least knows about the island. Let's just assume she WAS born there for now...
As far as we know the only people who were actually born on the island were Alex and Aaron, and we know practically nothing of Alex prior to season 3, apart from what Danielle said - she had a baby with blue eyes that she had for a week until the others took her. Charlotte's eyes are also very very blue.
So if Charlotte was born on the island, and she's not Alex, then she:
a) probably wouldn't have even been born, since nobody on the island can give birth. But if she was born there, she
b) would have been born into the Dharma Initiative, and killed in the purge, coz it doesn't seem that the DI lets people go easily. Or
c) born into the others and never left.
But if Charlotte is really Alex, and left the Island at a young age, the time differences between the island and the real world could mean that her age matches up as well.
However, where did 'Alex', the Alex we know in the show come from, and why did Ben create this elaborate lie (pretending to raise Alex, when he was really raising a different baby)? I don't know, but I do know Ben has an almost compulsive tendency to create massive elaborate lies for his own benefit. If anyone has any ideas about this part, I'm listening. Also feel free to poke holes in this theory, or add anything, I wanna know if you think i missed anything.
