OK so this is the first theory i have ever posted on any LOST site... I know how hard we fanatics critique pieces such as this... but please spare me the ridicule.. lol =]
OK, so I've been a pretty big LOST fan since season one [when Adam and Eve were introduced along with the whispers] and during this long, treacherous, monotonous hiatus i've been brainstorming like crazy.
So the whispers having listened to the whispers it is obvious that they are the thoughts of the dead trying to communicate with those who are alive in the island. But there are also whispers that seem to have full on conversations with each other so... who really know?! haha but here we go!
The Whispers:
The whispers are a combination of the dead, the Dharma initiative, Jacob, and a series of timelines running simultaneously in different dimensions... Pause. We all know that the island is special right? So it think that due to the presence of large amounts of electromagnetic properties right? [See Blackhole] There are rumors that if the failsafe key had not been pressed the Swan would be turned into a Black hole which would ultimately lead to the destruction of the world. Black holes suck in virtually anything, including sound if I'm not mistaken.. which means... what if the whispers are from another dimension or from the alternate timelines that naturally occur on the island. What if the whispers are heard due to the high level of electromagnetic properties? There is evidence that The Whispers are from deceased beings: In The episode "Abandoned" you can clearly hear Boone saying "Death Sucks" right when Shannon is shot. So what does this all mean? Are these subliminal hints a! nd winks at the audience factual and represent a higher theme of the show or Are "Darlton" Just messing with us? Only Time Will Tell...
Adam & Eve:
What if Adam & Eve did not turn out to be Kate & Jack like everyone is suspecting, but actually Desmond and Penny. Think about it... In The episode "The Shape Of Things To Come" Ben tells Widmore that he is going to kill Penny, Ben was teleported from the island. It is clear that at the end of "There's No Place Like Home" That Desmond will most likely have to travel back to the island. Since Ben cannot go back to the island than the safest place for Penny technically speaking is "the island." SO what if Des and Pen get to the island with the aid of Widmore [who has an agenda of his own] but are sent into the early 1950's and live out there lives; dying in a cave... It's a stretch but ya never know...
