There is alot of failed logic in the popular theory that the island moved in time.
1)If the island moved back in time.
Why would it disappear? Say it moved back in time 20 days. The island was there 20 days ago, so are there now two islands on top of each other? Then as time progressed 20 days forward would not they both still be there? How could there be two islands anyway and why would they disappear? Doesn't make any sense.
2) The island moves back to Dharma days with Locke, Sawyer, and current others.
This one really bothers me as being patheticly stupid.
If the island moved itself 30 years into the past, why would the dead people be alive, and building that were destroyed be rebuilt? This could only happen if the time ON the island changed. So Locke himself would have to go back in time, not the island. However this is not what happened. The whole island moved.
Conclusion
The only time travelling that is possible for the island, is to the future, as Ben did. This would explain why it disappeared, and solve the problem of there being two islands.
