Speculation has been high around who was the camera man. Well, here is my theory with reasons attached.
The man behind the camera is Daniel Faraday.
Pierre says that the island allows them to see future events. Faraday's book comes in strong on this point. Remembering that Faraday's book has events yet to happen written in it. It would also help explain why Faraday seems to know quite a lot of information surrounding the island.
It would also explain why Faraday came on the expedition. This could be for personal gain i.e. to do experiments or for the flight 815ers, he may want to get them off the island because he knows what it is like.
A hitch in this theory, however, is how would Faraday have survived the purge? His 'duties' on the island may have been over, so he may have had the chance to leave before the purge happened. I have heard other people say that they think Charlie is the man behind the camera, I have to disagree, logically it would make little sense. At comic con Carlton and Lindelof highlighted the importance of Faraday's book and strongly suggested that Faraday would survive. Why? Because Faraday has a big role to fulfil one which dates back to the dharma days.
