The LOST "Back To The Future" Theory
Submitted by Vote_For_Eko_815
If you want this to make more sense while you're reading this, watch Back To The Future, or read the following (Which you should do anyway). Let's use Marty as Locke, Doc as Sawyer (Not too important who Doc is), and Marty's parents as the 815 survivors/Others ON island. So in the first movie before Marty goes back in time, we see his parents. His dad is a goof who still is getting picked on by Biff, his high school bully, and his mother looks alcoholic and worn down like she let herself go. After Marty's experience back in time, Marty interferes with the timeline by having his mother fall in love with him, not knowing it is him. Trying to get his parents back together, otherwise Marty would never be born, this all leads to Marty's dad punching Biff's lights out. While he is also there he slips Doc the note that he will die by getting shot on the day he goes back in time to 1955, trying to stop the death that he had already seen in the future.
So after Marty returns back to 1985, from 1955, he sees Doc get shot. He thinks it's too late, but he notices Doc had a bullet proof vest on, keeping him alive and remembering the information from 1955. Since Marty's dad punched Biff, Biff in the present is now working for Marty's dad. His parents are successful and look great and everything is changed for the better. This applies to the theory below, where Locke goes back in time, gets the '06 to go to the island, and fixes everything:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THEORY
Locke is in the coffin as everybody should know. I believe Locke is indeed dead, there in the coffin. No strings attached. Actually, some strings attached.
Locke is a dead man there, but Ben is wrong when he says they need to bring him back to the island. They don't, he's already there. The Locke in the coffin is a future Locke, like far in the future compared to the 3 years the O6 were off the island. What ever went down on that island to make "some very bad things happen", as Jeremy (Locke) said, didn't happen yet.
It seems like Ben has not experienced, nor anybody else, "moving" the island in time, because that white room where Dr. Hollowax put the bunny in was sealed shut, and it took a lot to break that wall. Therefore, if Ben had not experienced it, even he wouldn't know of the results.
The very bad things are yet to come. Locke time-traveled back in time to find Jack and the O6 before everything on the island went wrong. Locke must have been killed or something, but by Jack and the others going back to the island, saving the day, and protecting their friends (including Locke), Locke will be alive.
This is also could fit in with what a lot of people are saying about Locke being the "him" Claire was talking about in Kate's vision in "There's No Place Like Home". If Locke was brought back, there would be a paradox (kind of like Back To The Future, where Marty cannot interfere with his self in the same period of time) and the universe might "explode" or something bad like that. Even Holliwax knew that the bunnies could not be near eachother because they were the same bunnies, but from different times, that is why Holliwax freaks out (As seen in the Orchid video online, and in the one on Lost). This would be why Locke cannot go back. Kate and Aaron DO need to go back, but Locke cannot, which would explain the dream sequence.
Also, you can think of it kind of like Doc Ray who's body washed up on shore, throat slit, and then at least a day later off-island he is actually killed. So basically there were two of him at the same time at a point. This also applies to Flight 815 in the ocean, with all the dead passengers. But instead of this accidently happening, Locke did it so he could change what had happened. All of these incidents (Oceanic Plane, Bunny and Doc Ray) show that two of the same person CAN be in the same time (Which kind of brings up the clone theory which I know you hate, but hey, these are actual fact s!).
Maybe he did commit suicide in order to save himself, he had to die. Or maybe he was killed. I know it still doesn't answer the alias question but maybe he had to make up a name because he was being chased or something. Anyway that's how I think it is going to go down, and there are many more connections, but for the 2000 word sake I thought I'd just sum it up.
