So the general conjecture on most of the site seems to be aimed at the Island moving through time or space. I think that the Island wil move through both time and space, coming to a semi-comfortable stop somewhere else in the world (possibly off the coast of Tunisia?), and also several years in the future.
The reason for this theory is twofold. First, if the Island only moved through time, then moving it wouldn't be a very good plan. Even if you moved it into the future, future Widmore would still have the coordinates, and out goes freighter #2. If you moved it into the past, then freighter #1 would still be coming in the near / far future, depending on how far back you went. Second, and most importantly, is that it occured to me it would be a major deviation from the first four seasons if the timeline for both the on-island and off-island folks took place over several years. Instead, we've already seen most of the story for the first 3 years off the island for the Oceanic 6 via flashforwards. What if the reason we havent seen an on-island flashforward is because there isnt anything to flash to? My theory is that the Island will be moved both to a different place on Earth, likely somewhere in the vicinity of the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa, somewhere near Tunisia (Y! es I know Tunisia only has a coast on the Mediterranean Sea, but I doubt the Island would end up in a sea. I'm sure the writers have some explanation figured out). Simultaneously, the Island will be moved forward in time, somewhere in the vicinity of Summer / Fall 2007. Specifically, the very same day that Jack will meet Kate at the airport and yell "We have to go back!" That way, the timelines of the on-island and off-island people will be aligned, it will be feasible for the flashforward / off-Island plots to continue with any relevance to the on-Island plot, and instead of "flashes", season 5 will consist of on-island and off-island storylines going on in the same timeline. Anyway, this the first theory I've ever posted because I actually think it's right. Lemme know what you think.
