Well, I for one, was completely slackjawed at the end of this last monster of an episode. It was my favorite by far. Immediately, I had some BIG questions but I also wanted to figure things out on my own. I have an idea, that I hold open for discussion.
1. There is a significance to the "Dharma Initiative Training Video" rewinding.
---A: The tape rewinding JUST as the "Time Shift Process" is beginning holds a certain foreshadowing effect. What I immediately thought of when this happened was that the process would be reversed. We know that the island is about to be moved. We know that Ben is specifically breaking the rules of the vault by placing metal in it, so we know something different than the regular results will happen. We know that the island has some weird properties with space and time. Lo and behold, the process was reversed. The ISLAND was "Space Shifted" rather than the BUNNY being "Time Shifted".
---B: It's a complete reversal of what is supposed to happen. We also see some pretty weird stuff when Ben goes into the "Yeti Cave". We know how he got the parka and the cut arm in the episode with Sayid earlier on. And we also know that Ben was visibly upset to be leaving the island. He was crying while working the donkey wheel. This added to my feelings of sympathy for Ben, especially because he made me pretty mad by killing Michael, Jin, and a BUNCH of other people.
2. Ben says that John (Jeremy?) will do greater things than he could have ever done.
---A: This suggests that Ben knows something that will happen in the future. And this also presents us with a new question. How?
---B: How Ben knows this might be evidenced earlier in his exchange with John. John asks "Is this the magic box?" and Ben looks at him real seriously and says no. He says it like he means "No, of course not, you idiot." This suggests that the magic box is actually real and Locke's dad could have really come through it. Teleportation is possible on the island. We've seen Ben show up in the middle of the desert in a parka. We've also seen polar bear bones with dharma symbols nearby in the desert.
3. Finally we come to Sun and Widmore.
---A: Throughout the whole episode there was mention of a strange man by the name of Jeremy Bentham. We know now that it is Locke. He came to visit everyone. My theory is that he came to Sun, she found out somehow that Ben was responsible for Jin's death, and now she is plotting revenge. She says that her and Widmore have "common interests". We know that Widmore doesn't like Ben and may possibly want him dead. This is the only thing I could link between Widmore and Sun. She used her newfound power over Palk. (GO SUN!)
Anyway, thanks for letting me contribute. I really appreciate the time and effort put into the website. Thanks again!
