I have been saying Rousseau could be an other for a while now. Why would it be so shocking to believe that she handed Ben over to the losties as part of Ben's plan. It is starting to look like Walt just may have been part of the plan (but the also could have needed him as well, it would seem to elaborate of a plan, if Walt and Michael were just part of getting Jack to do the surgery). Why would Rousseau hand over one of the people on the island that she hears but never sees and have no interest in finding out who this person is and if they might be involved in her child's abduction (and we know that the person she captured is raising her child as his own, as far as we know she is Rousseau's child. Rousseau also wouldn't enter the flame much like she wouldn't enter the Swan, and if im not mistaken Rousseau helped rescue Claire when Ethan had taken her to the Medical Hatch and who else was helping Claire escape? None other than Alex(her daughter). I find it hard to believe anyone could live on that Island for 16 years and not find out where the others lived. Also Rousseau clubbed Sayid over the head when he was trying to follow the cables into the Jungle and see where they lead to... are these the actions of a woman scarred that Sayid was an 'other' or was this the action of a woman trying to cover up a secret. It is Rousseau's voice on the outgoing transmission being played on the Island, how could she find the transmitter and change the message if she avoids places like the flame to keep herself alive. Now if Ben or Jacob wanted us to believe that Rousseau lived alone on the Island wouldn't they make sure the transmission had Rousseau's voice on it?
Now this is not to say that she is still an other... maybe she wasn't willing to fully commit, or what I would love to see is that Alex is the daughter of Both Ben and Rousseau, and Rousseau ended up banished or something like that but i don't that it would have anything to do with the overall storyline.
