Hello all, I hope you enjoying the third season as much as I am - Here is my island theory - It is quite lateral and I'll start with explaining why...
The Video game, snowglobe, after life, atlantis theory's are fun, but could you imagine if any of this was actually written into the show? There would be a huge hatred to abc, lost writers JJ Abrams and all concerned... Does anyone remember the infamous wakening up scene in Dallas - or the lame way X-files ended...?
With this in mind - I think that the writers are going to take a more sensible approach, and leave some of the islands mystery's unsolved... - and although we are begging for answers - that would be the ultimate way to end a show based on investigation, wouldn't it> To leave the audience always wanting more... its the basic rule when producing any sort of entertainment...
I feel that there is a huge amount the writers can still play with and I'll share my theorys with you all in the next paragraphs but when it comes to the end of the show - please don't be disappointed by what I feel will be a very sensible 'we all get saved or get home' show... (though I'm hoping for a quantum leap style ending of 'and they never did...') So here are my in the mean time theory's...
Smokey Joe! - The monster, I feel is generated by some sort of radiation caused by the hatch... I don't know how or why, but I feel that alot of these sightings are part of the sickness that Rousseau speaks of.
Locke has seen it - up close and personal... He described it to Eko as an amazing white light? - could their be two monsters? I don't know - its just what I'm waiting for tho...
The others - I like the Utopian society theory being the Dharma initiative... very clever. however I believe that this society has gotten out of Dharma's hands... and that Hanso is dead/ no longer in control of it...
Jacob - I personally think that Jacob is on the island. I think that he is in control of both groups of others... whats that? both you say - yes I did!!!
Others 1 - the guys we know and love to fear...
Others 2 - I think have a higher power - closer to Jacob, I believe that they reside on the mainland - and also where Jacob is, I believe that they have mental supernatural powers maybe... hence the desperation for Walt?! I feel that the black lady (B?) that looked after Walt has these powers... and I believe her to be second in command to Jacob.
The statue - I believe to be Jacob. I think that whatever power he has over ben and Others 1, he is abusing to build a statue of them... this is a little far fetched but we are talking about a show full of crazy situations.
