I have a new theory based on the season premiere. This is called "What the others are really doing". I think that there used to be a large group of people that joined the Dharma Initiative years ago. They were going to try to make the world a better place through their findings from the research they did on this remote island. They split up into groups, with each group studying something different. Eventually the groups lost touch and the Dharma initiative went into a state of disrepair. Some groups died off, forgot about their subjects(Desmond and Kelvin), or abandoned their posts(The pearl). The group we saw on the season premiere could be the group that studied either telekenesis or animals(or maybe both). The animals escaped, and they ran out of subjects to study. When the plane crashed, they eventually kidnapped Kate, Sawyer, and Jack. I think that they kidnapped Kate, Sawyer, and Jack for a few reasons. To use Jacks expertise as a doctor for one. But also they are testing their resistance. The first test for all 3 was to see what they would do to get food. All 3 had to give up their dignity to some extent. Now they are going to put them into a number of intense situations with negative and positive reinforcement(psychology) to get them to do what they want them to do. Slowly brain washing them into becoming something else. I am not sure yet what that is. What do you think?
