The staged crash theory doesn't work, too many holes such as Claire, Walt, Vincent, and Desmond...thats nixed.
Here is what we know: (1) Something big will happen mid season that will blow us away, (2) Time on the show maybe be funny, and (3) The producers have made it a point to address Walt's growth spurt on the show; it is not a continuity error. How is this possible?
Well how about this new theory: Time on the island is happening at a consistent rate. We know this because the tailes experienced 48 days on one part of the island while the fusies experienced the same amount of time on the other side. Claire was 8 months pregnant when they crashed and gave birth 41 days later being consistent with her full term pregnancy. Noone besides Walt have visibly aged more than 2 months (66 days) since the crash. So what does this mean? Simple, time on the island moves slower than time in the real world. On the island, only 66 days have passed, but in the real world, maybe up to 2 years have passed...why 2 years? Well the Lost Experience is happening now, Summer 2006, which seems odd that they would have the game 2 years ahead of the island events. But what if the Lost Experience and the island events are happening concurrently?
How could this be? Well we see Walt who looks a year or two older than what he should be. The others have taken him to their camp which is rumored to be located on another landmass or island nearby. What we thought was 3 weeks of them having Walt could have turned out to be months or even years. This would also be true with the tailie kids...perhaps when we see them next they are pre-teens?
*This might explain Rose and Locke's condition...maybe time reversed for them to where Locke was still walking and Rose was in remission?
There maybe a few holes in this theory as well but I think we can work on it and make this solid.
*What if that is what the numbers are for? 4,8,15,16,23,42 might explain the time difference between the island and the real world.
This theory will also explain how Michael can't come back...the island is in a sense on another plain of existence...
