1) the plane crash, the plane crash accidentally happened because Desmond didn't hit the button.
2) The Polar bears (on the hanso foundation website it states they are trying to make animals live longer) they are there because the hanso found. Is trying to make the Polar bears able to live longer when the polar icecaps melt and there is no ice for the polar bears.
3) The smoke thing. It is NOT the monster (as it is stated by the creators.) The monster is something we have seen before, like Walt, Vincent, the bird, danielle, THE PAST. The smoke thing is something created by dharma to scare the islanders (well originally the hatch people). IT is a piece of metal with a Electro Magnetic (EM) field around it that can trace the minds (connection to claire's brain wipe) of the losties.
4)The reason why the food was dropped in "Lockdown". When the button is pushed it lets the dharma people know that the people in the hatch are still alive. When it is pushed a certain amount of times it says they need food. The people in the hatch are not allowed to have human contact so, the walls fall, blocking them from going outside. When the plane leaves the walls open again and the people go and restock the fridge!
5) The blacklight I think that desmonds buddy that was in the hatch with him drew the map and then installed a blacklight pusher thing so when the walls fall it hits the trigger and makes the blacklight go on and expose to map.
6)The statue It has something to do with the islands history says the creators. It probably has nothing to do with the others.
7) The Others There is two groups of others. The Dharma scientist people and scientist that got too effected by the island and grew primitive. (the ones on the rock).
8) The "Sickness" After the white light lit up the sky, Claire says to Charlie ," What was with that white light? It lit up the sky." And Charlie says, "It did?" This makes you seem like he was kidding. Charlie really forgot because the electro stuff messed with his head and erased his memory. If you watch that scene again you can see that everyone seems as if they forgot and didn't know what was going on. Claire was the only person (and Aaron) that was taking the medicine. The sickness is memory loss.
