LOST Theories - DarkUFO

Ben wrote ELBA on the chalk board, spoke of Napoleon.

Let's start with Elba, a Mediterranean island in Tuscany, Italy. The island is divided into eight (8) municipalities, of which Portoferraio is the main one, the others; Campo nell'Elba, Capoliveri, Marciana, Marciana Marina, Porto Azzurro, Rio Marina, and Rio nell'Elba.

Where else have we seen 8 municipalities? The Blast Door Map!
The blast door map shows 8 stations (municipalities), all within an octagon (8 sides): 6 within the octagon, 1 crossed out and the question mark.

Ready for a quick sidetrack into my mind?

Portoferraio is the main one, the others; Campo nell'Elba
the others; Campo nell'Elba
the others; Camp

I'm just saying.

Elba was also well known from very ancient times for its iron (iron is a group 8 and period 4 element and is therefore classified as a transition metal. There's those numbers again) resources and its valued mines. The Greeks called it Aethalia (fume) after the fumes of the furnaces for the metal production.

...the fumes of the furnaces.... NotLocke seems to quite enjoy a transition that allows him to come and go into something of that "fume and furnace" kind of way.

Before 480 BC, Elba was invaded by the Etruscans. The Etruscan system of belief was an immanent polytheism; that is, all visible phenomena were considered to be a manifestation of divine power and that power was subdivided into deities that acted continually on the world of man and could be dissuaded or persuaded in favor of human affairs. Well hello, MIB and Jacob.

Etruscan settlements were frequently built on a hill—the steeper the better—and surrounded by thick walls. The Temple walls???

The island is connected to the mainland via the two ferry companies. Sound like the submarine?

The island also had an airport.

Again, just saying.

Now, Napoleon. Born on 8/15.

In 1814, Napoleon was exiled to Elba. After 100 days he escaped to the French mainland. It was now 1815 (8, 15). The Losties had been stranded on the island for 101 days when the Oceanic 6 were rescued and went back to the mainland.

He spent the early years of the Revolution in Corsica, fighting in a complex three-way struggle (MIB, Jacob, Widmore?) between royalists, revolutionaries, and Corsican nationalists. He supported the revolutionary Jacobin faction, gained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and command over a battalion of volunteers. After he had exceeded his leave of absence and led a riot against a French army in Corsica, he was somehow able to convince military authorities in Paris to promote him to Captain in July 1792.[18] He returned to Corsica once again, and came into conflict with Paoli, who had decided to split with France and sabotage a French assault on the Sardinian island of La Maddalena, where Bonaparte was one of the expedition leaders. Napoleon and NotLocke sure work the corporate ladder well!

That's all on him.

The East India Trading Company (this was chapter 19 in the book Ben was looking at when studying with Alex. The chapter title page also shows the Black Rock), also known as referred to as John Company.

The East India Trading Company traded mainly in cotton, silk, indigo dye, saltpetre, tea, and opium.

What's saltpetre?

Saltpetre or Potassium nitrate is a chemical compound with the chemical formula KNO3.

KNO3 constitutes a critical oxidizing component of black powder/gunpowder.

So The East India Trading Company has a ship that looks JUST LIKE the Black Rock and the would transport BLACK POWDER to the island.

Where am I going with all this?

The island we know, may be based off of Elba.

MIB/Jacob/The Losties, all have little bits of Napoleon in them.

Richard is some how connected to Widmore.

What do you think? Am I crazy???
