LOST Theories - DarkUFO

I was working on some game designing this past weekend, and was researching werewolves for material. As I was reading the werewolf folklore, I came across “mountain ash”. As I read further, it stated that mountain ash is something that can keep a werewolf at bay. The “ash” from LOST instantly came into mind, and I started to research connections between the show and werewolves. Surprisingly enough, I discovered the “Werewolf/Mafia Social Party Game. As it turns out, not only this game popular among writers, but writers also engage in this game at large groupings/conventions as writing exercises. I personally have not heard of this game until recently. It seems to fit almost perfectly with what LOST would be: A dinner party with a group of people (The Losties) playing Mafia/Werewolf. Below are the basics of what the game entails:

The premise of the game is that all of the participants are villagers, including one clairvoyant seer, but two of the villagers (unbeknownst to the rest) are actually werewolves by night. At night the werewolves decide amongst themselves which villager they will have for a midnight snack under a full moon.

When day breaks, the villagers awaken to find that one of their own has been eaten, and try to determine who among them is actually a werewolf. The villagers (including the werewolves who vehemently deny their alter egos) all vote on who they will lynch in revenge. That player is then out of the game, and reveals if s/he was in fact a werewolf or an innocent victim of mob mentality.

This would explain a lot of things such as:

The game begins with “werewolves open your eyes”. The LOST Pilot opens with jack’s eye. Also, the mountain ash could be protecting everyone from “MIB” who would be a werewolf. In the game, you have “Seers” who can identify werewolves. I recalled the lady who did Jack’s tattoo. She claimed to be a “Seer” and she didn’t want to do Jack’s tattoo. Perhaps this because Jack “who is not one of us, but walks among us,” was identified as a werewolf. He was attacked by thugs shortly after.

Below if information about the game at Wikipedia:

Mafia (also known as Werewolf or Assassin) is a party game modeling a battle between an informed minority and an uninformed majority. Players are secretly assigned roles: either "mafia", who know each other; or "townspeople", who know only the number of mafia amongst them. During the night phase of the game, the Mafia choose an innocent to kill. During the day phase, all players debate the identities of the Mafia and vote to kill someone whom the majority suspect. Players are eliminated until either all mafia are killed or the mafia outnumber the innocents. Mafia is rarely played in groups of fewer than five, and must always start with more innocents than mafia.

Werewolf can be tweaked to add elements such as “settings” etc. Therefore the Dharma Initiative and the Island itself will not be completely explained, as the writers have mentioned. They are simply a backdrop/setting.

I believe that the finale of LOST will end with the dinner party finishing the game.

What does everyone think?
