LOST Theories - DarkUFO

Where Did The Island Go? by TST

Ok. This theory starts at season 4 when the island disappears. And as much as I want it to be WHH, I think there is a lot of evidence of alternate timelines. Those have been examined in other theories, but here is my take on it.

As the O6 are flying back to the island it vanishes. Where did it go? Did it move locations or did it just go skipping back in time?

This is where the alternate timeline comes in. I think there are 2 at this point in the show: 1 where the island is destroyed and 1 where the island remains.

When the O6 see the island disappear, it was because they left the island into a reality where the island had already been destroyed. That is why it wasn't there.

The donkey wheel is for exactly that: to move the island back in time to keep it from being destroyed. But when Ben turned it, he put all that metal stuff in the chamber and didn't turn the wheel all the way and sent the island losties skipping through time.

They are skipping through both realities. When Locke gets shot by Ethan and receives the compass from Alpert in one flash, that is 2007 in the timeline where the island wasn't destroyed.

That same flash is the one that the Ajira 316 got caught in and sent some of them back to the 70s where Jughead went off and some stayed in 2007 where they are looking for the pasties.

This is where we are now. I don't think the 77ers will get back to the present, I think the 07ers will have to get to the past. That is why Christian told Sun she had a long journey ahead of her.

I think Jughead opened some sort of porthole in time to help Sun get to the past. They eventually find each other and use the porthole to save the island.

How do they do this? They travel between realities, trying not to be seen by their duplicate while setting up "cons" to get themselves to "do what they are supposed to do."

Since Jacob can heal, I believe that his touch gave them a little extra "life" to help them do this.

I also believe that dead is dead and if they die in one reality, they will also die in the other, so they are trying to keep both of themselves and each other alive.

I don't think the destruction of the island destroys the world, but it may be a place that continues life. Like a few other theories have said, when humanity is destroyed (like in the VE)the island is there with life on it.

I think they are trying to make the two timelines as similar as possible so the island is not destroyed. That is what the war is about: Jacob thinks it is possible to save the island, but MIB is sick of watching people destroy it, and has given up.

All the other people on the show are on one side or the other and the island will not be desroyed in either timeline, but there will be sacrifices that it demands.

Well, that is my theory. Lemme know what you think!
