My Ockham's Theories by DeeDee

With all due respect to ALL other theorists...IMO alot of the theories are way to complicated. Ex. Quantum theories, doubles or doppelgangers in ALT timelines--diverging and converging, Time Machines, etc. And "Whatever Happened, Happened" and "Dead Is Dead" which both ep titles were uttered by Ben, which is immediately suspect and impossible, for me, to hang any theory on. Info I see in some theories does not correlate with the facts we have been given over the last 5 years. I'm hoping the story arc stays on path and does not start a new, completely different storyline.

My theories are simple and supported by facts we have seen. I believe that while we are watching all the S5 final scenes over at The Swan, Eloise, who is the only person (with Richard) that knows what Jack is planning, yet has the ability as the leader, goes and turns the FDW which will send TI skipping in time again. This time to 2010. Listen to the sounds happening in the last few seconds of the last scene of S5. Some numbers info: 2004 Show begins. 2007 Where Locke and Sun are while the other Losties are stuck 1977 Year of The Incident. 2010 Last season. Three years and 30 years apart. We all know numbers are important and I think the last skip will reunite everyone in 2010 (show present) for The War.

The leader seems to do whatever is necessary to protect the island. Each has his or her own ideas of what that protection entails and that is why they are The Leader at that time. So, I think, the bomb does not explode. I think our Losties start skipping again and the Juliet (whom I LOVE) dies of injuries beside the now very compromised hydrogen bomb. Further requiring The Swan to now contain, instead of harness, the radiation and require small, 108 minute increments of radiation emission. And to force Radsinsky to live and go crazy by his obsession, The Swan. And the DI to remain on the island for several years until The Purge in 1992. Fifteen years later and half of the 30 years. Those numbers again.

Eloise, sacrifices herself knowing that turning the FDW will throw her off the island, yet save TI. Since our Losties went BACK in time, perhaps she also saw the act as a way to change time to possibly prevent/save/rescue the son she killed, Daniel. We know that by turning the FDW and leaving the island, that she is no longer The Leader OR an Other and that would explain why Charles was leaving the island and having a family (Daniel and Penny) with a Non-Other. Facilitating his own exit, by Ben and the submarine, from the island.

If the above is true, Penny and Daniel are full and not half-siblings. AND, IMO, Lost has two important family lines. Eloise, Charles, Penny, Daniel, Desmond, and now little Charlie are relevant to the End Game on one side. And the other important family line Christian, Jack (which is short for the French name Jacques or Jacob), Claire (means "pure or clear + grace"), and now Aaron (means "mountain") must be the opponent aligned with Jacob OR MIB. Until we know more about the motives of Jacob, MIB (or Esau means "hairy, ruddy or red--Jacob's brother in the Bible), Eloise (means "happiness + woodland"), Charles (means "free man") and the enigma Christian Shephard (means "follower of Christ" and Christ was a shepperd). We don't KNOW who is on which side, but I THINK I KNOW! I think the family lines will align with it's respective side, Jacob (means "supplanter, or HELD BY THE HEEL") or MIB, for The War in 2010 and to ultimately continue the Game. Backgammon and the more modern! Mousetrap both apply. AND John (means "God is gracious") and Walt (means "Leader of the Army"), which will be back to fulfill his "Destiny," to fight together in The War. I think Jack, Kate and Sawyer will remain aligned. BTW James means "supplanter, sole of the foot, serve as a substitute, replace." How many times have we seen a Sawyer foot/sole injury?? And in the Bible, Benjamin was Jacob's child by RACHEL (which means "ewe" or female sheep and the sister Juliet helped impregnant.) Rachel was his third and favorite wife that died DURING CHILDBIRTH. Hummm. A reason to hold a sad and silly grudge against an innocent child. Just like Roger (means "spear" He pierces his son constantly) does Benjamin after Emily dies in Childbirth. Isn't John's mother also named Emily. Hummm. Maybe Ben and John are related somehow?? Names are not only relevant ... they support the backstories. BTW, Sayid, the assasin, is Muslim for "master." Ever heard the devil referred to as The Dark Maste! r? Hummm. Nadia means "the beginning, first." First of a line ! of women who Sayid loves and then dies or imprisons him! Hummm. Richard means "strong power, hardy power" + Alpert means "noble, famous." And my favorite Hugo Reyes...Hugo means "mind, heart or spirit" and Reyes means "advice, decision + protector." Love that one!! All the names are like that. Horace "Latin for hour, time and Greek for guardian" he was "in charge" of the island for a time! And Horus was the God of war.

I see TI as the Earth's Keystone. A place where yin/yang, male/female, hot/cold, good/evil, light/dark, birth/death, etc began and that balance IS every living person. And Eloise's comments to Des in the flashback and much later to Jack and Des in The Lamp Post about each of them going to the island "to save us all" or the planet is because the island or Keystone MUST REMAIN to keep the Earth or humanity intact. TI can not be blown up, destroyed by radiation, become uninhabited due to infertilty, stolen by commercial entities (DI), or destroyed by war. And is why The Leader protects it from outside forces trying to get and corrupt TI's special Keystone-like powers.

I am sure I am a minority and will anger the masses, but I don't think Smokey is ANYONE. I think it's always been there and tries to protect TI from "the current" Jacob and MIB's manipulations.

And lastly, The Loophole. My sweet, also Lost obsessed Hubby came up with this one. He feels that Jacob's comment to MIB/John about "finding the loophole" is simple. The rule is: Only a former Leader can kill Jacob. And Ben is the only former Leader on TI if now John is MIB. Since only a Leader can turn the FDW! Which dumps The Leader in Tunisia, moves the ever-moving island that is so difficult to locate, and apparently has only a tiny, death defying portal. If a former Leader CAN GET BACK (and they all seem to be trying to ge back) to TI, only he/she can kill Jacob and take over his position.

I have played backgammon since I was a teenager (LONG, LONG time), and like chess, it is a game of HONOR. The smartest, most strategic, tactical player wins. It IS NOT a cheaters game. So I can not imagine that a cheat beats The Loop Hole....but in the Bible Jacob beat the starving Esau (the eldest) out of his birthright with a bowl of RED lentils and became The Leader of the tribes of Israel...so if God sanctioned that, who knows???
